@CharcoalEpitaph @M_Johnston1 Under the law, MAID is a voluntary request and requires informed consent. A doctor can discuss/recommend MAID, but the patient MUST voluntarily choose it and give their informed consent. A doctor's recommendation is not enough for MAID to happen.

@kate_local @M_Johnston1 You think a person not known the patient or the doctor walked into a shared hospital room, announced loudly that the patient had no choice, and then arranged MAID?? MAID is a formal legal process. It's not something a random stranger can force on a patient.

MAID is voluntary and NOT legally permitted to be "pushed" on anyone. Under the law, all MAID requests MUST be entirely voluntary with no external pressure. Medical assessors job is to screen for coercion.
