You know that Russia or China would have vetoed it. I mean, why didn't Russia put it's bombings/invasions of Chechnya, Georgia, Syria or Ukraine up for a UN vote?

@spicysid20 @Sulkhan In what way is this an existential war for Russia? If they surrender tomorrow will half of Russia be annexed by Ukraine? Will Ukrainian troops occupy Moscow and install a puppet government? Of course not. So in what way is it existential for them?

@Okonkwo_Sports The main reason for the creation of police in Britain wasn't actually to prevent/investigate crimes, it was so they had a civilian force that could control protests and disperse riots. Calling in the military often resulted in dozens or hundreds of casualties.

@Podzhog_Sarayev @WesternGamayun @W96Emily If they tried to cut off Ukraine from Poland they would have to advance down 3 main roads surrounded by 100s of kms of swamps. 1 destroyed lead vehicle and the whole column turns into a shooting gallery. It would go down even worse than their drive to Kyiv.

@WASWEJEFF @PoliSciChick84 Can you show me the official document for the "no NATO expansion" claim? It's usually called "<Name of town> agreement/accord/memorandum/etc." and signed by both/all Presidents/Prime Ministers of the countries involved.

@JeffMMansfield @PoliSciChick84 The deal offered was giving up unoccupied territory, never joining NATO and reducing it's army by 80% in exchange for a Russian pinky promise not to invade again. Ukraine justifiably refused it.

You were the one claiming EE had no reason to join NATO, that a neutral Estonia has no reason to feel threatened by a much larger Russia.
Russia bombed Moldova, Chechnya, Syria, Ukraine.

@Alfonzo10432880 @Sulkhan If Russias security concerns are valid then so are those of Eastern European countries. NATO has never attacked Russia, but EE has been under Russian occupation for centuries. If American nukes in EE are a threat to Russia then so are Russian nukes a threat to EE countries.

@Alfonzo10432880 @Sulkhan And yet when Eastern European countries think Russia is a threat you immediately dismissed those concerns. You can't have it both ways.
In 2013 20% of Ukrainians supported joining NATO, after Crimea it was 50%, after 2022 it's 90%. Ukraine's future in NATO is Russia's own fault.

@Alfonzo10432880 @Sulkhan And I didn't hear any credible claim that NATO wanted to attack Russia, so what's Russia scared about? NATO was created to counter the USSR, which according to you Russia has no connection to, so why is it a problem if countries join NATO?

@Alfonzo10432880 @Sulkhan No, Russia just wants it's old empire back, which is most of Eastern Europe. Putin himself described the breakup of the USSR as "the greatest tragedy of the 20th century". Border dispute? Chechens wanted out and Russia killed 100s of thousands. Serbia was doing ethnic cleansing.

2. Before any new country joined NATO Russia had shown it was no different than the USSR in both Moldova and Chechnya.

@Alfonzo10432880 @Sulkhan And all of those countries see Russia as a threat to their own existence, with very good reasons. They sought protection in NATO and continued Russian invasions of it's neighbours have proven them right.

@GShadrake @wartranslated Every country that joined NATO asked to join, because they didn't want to fall under Russian occupation again. If they weren't accepted they would have gone to plane B. But no Russia supporter wants to talk about how nuclear armed Poland would have been worse for Russia.

And all it receives is a possibility of an intervention in case of another attack with Russia have veto power it. My man, that's just a prelude to another invasion.

@paulandarisha @H2Bjorn @Sulkhan His promise to join the EU is what got him elected. His sudden pivot to Russia started the protests. His decision to suppress them with ever increasing violence grew them. His decision to use live ammo versus unarmed protestors led to him being relieved of duty.
