@defnotbeka The way that it leverages dissonance feels precise, no part of it feels unintentional to me and it reads like it's from somewhere where all of this is totally normal.
@CubeApril It's pretty much the same deal with both. They're not truly -random- random but assuming no tampering they're random beyond an average person's ability to predetermine outcomes so it doesn't really make a difference.
@ident1kitt Grocery store music is an atrocity and I would never opt to subject employees to more of it, but shopping at Aldi made me notice that I get way more anxious when it's not there. It's more likely my earbuds will draw attention or comment without something insufferable on the PA.
@ident1kitt Mine did! I watched the shit out of some very specific episodes of Voltron and Tranzor-Z (which is what Mazinger was released as here due to religious connotations that english audiences never would've gotten anyway) that they had randomly from the middles of those serieses.
@ident1kitt I recently bought a cartridge as an upgrade to the stock one in my audio technica and it cost as much as the turntable did.
...however I am no longer plagued by inner-groove distortion.
@krisstraub I went through that exact same sequence this week after starting Joe Pera Talks With You knowing nothing about it. It's just...lovely. I don't know how this show got made at all, much less by Adult Swim.
