Imam Muqbil al-Wadi’i:

“I advise you to focus on knowledge and teaching it.

The truth will become clear, today, tomorrow, or the day after.

Do not let them distract you from seeking knowledge.

They will send one person to debate you today, another tomorrow, and then another.”

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“From the perfection of a person’s Islam is that they leave what does not concern them.”

64 — The eminent Shaykh was asked: “What is your advice for one who forgets what he reads and learns?”

He answered, saying: “The most important matter in retaining knowledge is that a person acts upon what he has memorised, due to the statement of Allāh, the Most High: “But those who receive (and follow) guidance, He increases them in guidance and bestows on them their (works of) piety.” [47:17] And He said: “And Allāh increases in guidance those who walk aright.” [19:76]

So whenever a person acts upon his knowledge, Allāh increases him in memorisation and understanding, due to the generality of His statement: “He increases them in guidance.” [47:17]

It has been narrated from al-Shāfiʿī that he said: “I complained to Wakīʿ about my poor memory, so he directed me to abandon sins. He said: Know that knowledge is light, and the light of Allāh is not given to a sinner.”

Among the causes of retaining knowledge is turning away from distractions that divert the mind from knowledge, because a person is human: when his focus becomes scattered, his ability to acquire knowledge weakens. Likewise, there should be frequent discussion with colleagues for the purpose of reaching the truth, not for the purpose of winning. And there is no doubt that sincerity is among the means by which knowledge is preserved.”

The Seventh Matter: Wisdom.

That he be adorned with wisdom, as Allāh the Most High, says: “He grants wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever is granted wisdom has truly been given much good.” [2:269]

And wisdom is that the seeker of knowledge be nurturing to others, teaching them by his character from his good manners, and by what he calls them to from the religion of Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, in that He addresses each in a way befitting his state; and if we tread this path, much good will come to us,
as our Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, said: “Whoever is granted wisdom has truly been given much good.” [2:269]

The normalization and promotion of shirk and religious innovation are deeply alarming.

Their silence regarding these grave errors only highlights the seriousness of this new wave of misguidance.

Allah said:
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
