Mayor Wilson posted a statement about the North Aurora safety walk this weekend. She named the deputy mayor, the police chief, SDOT, and everyone who went on her behalf. She left out one detail. She wasn't there. After 95 shootings in two years, she still hasn't shown up. @KIROCharlie has something to say about this in today's commentary.
Another shootout in North Seattle near Aurora Ave, this time at 4 am Saturday near Burgermaster.
Police collected 40 shell casings from both sides of the street as the pimp & gang wars continue
But "Seattle is ready" for the World Cup, right?
Today's commentary: 95 reported shootings on and near Aurora Avenue in North Seattle the past two years.
The city sent someone out this weekend to argue about planters.
Just spitballing here, but maybe they should send someone out to argue with the pimps and drug dealers.
BREAKING:
There was yet another shooting with at least 40 shell casings this morning. Fed up neighbors have started blocking off streets.

There needs to be a study on Washington State, specifically Seattle. Seattle has been taking the more progressive approach for years, and now the entire state is following suit. The evidence comes from looking closely at cities that have been pursuing super progressive policies, like Seattle and San Francisco. Businesses are fleeing, and the cities are failing. Progressive politics over the years have increased crime and gas prices. Most are leaving the states because of crime, prices, and cities becoming ghost towns filled with homelessness. It isn't a winning way. Most have been leaving parties on both sides. I would focus on candidates who don't align with either party.
#Seattle May 18, 2026 shooting on Capitol Hill. Video from the @JeremyHarrisTV post isolating at least two of the shots. Original post: https://t.co/v5oFSj2D8A
Two bullets through the wall above a five-week-old's bassinet. Thirteen shell casings at a school bus stop. A pimp war is raging on Aurora Avenue, and the mayor paused crime cameras, the city attorney won't enforce SOAP zones, and the council member for the district has gone silent. @kirocharlie breaks it down in today's commentary.
