We celebrate Dr. Maggie Kigozi, one of Uganda’s most dignified public figures. Her grace continues to inspire generations. It is no surprise that she has raised one of the music industry’s most
This gentleman is called Robert Kirunda (PhD, MCIArb). He has the kind of intellect that makes law look like the simplest thing in the world.
If you want to understand who he is, look at how he and his team represented Vantage Mezzanine Fund in its long-running legal and arbitration battles against businessman Patrick Bitature and his Simba Group companies. Those cases showcased a legal mind operating at the highest level, navigating complex cross-border finance disputes, arbitration proceedings, enforcement actions, and high-stakes commercial litigation with remarkable precision. He stood at the center of a legal team that secured major victories for Vantage across multiple proceedings and appeals, consistently defeating attempts to block enforcement and derail arbitration processes. His legal stature goes beyond the Bitature disputes. His expertise in arbitration and commercial law earned him appointment to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, a rare distinction reserved for lawyers whose work commands international respect. Dr. Kirunda is one of the strongest commercial litigation and arbitration lawyers Uganda has been blessed with. He belongs to that rare class of lawyers who can walk into the most complex commercial dispute and make the law appear effortless. The frightening thing about people like him is that they make extraordinarily difficult legal work look normal. I am certain he inspires many lawyers because excellence at that level cannot be hidden.
What other countries do is that they beg their best brains to serve in key decision-making positions. But at the altar of politics, we have sidelined ours – bse they are allegedly, opposition (sth like, they don’t love country enough):
Abdu Katuntu (one of the best brains in law). Nandala Mafabi (immense experience with cooperatives, worked with World Bank). Gen. Mugisha Muntu (a most decorated & honest soldier). Dr Sarah Bireete (a very astute activist on good governance). Andrew Mwenda. Robert Kabushenga. Winnie Kizza. Kin Kariisa, among others.
Instead, national decision-making is gift platforms to old comrades or their children, love affairs, & loyalists. Kitalo ddala.
Children love each other with pure hearts. They share smiles, laughter, and friendship without seeing differences. Their kindness reminds us that love and humanity connect everyone.
In the months past, the New Vision would never admit, let alone publish that Anita Among had blocked the NUP, FDC, and other independent candidates from running against her. Instead, they praised her and always found reason to defend her and the EC in these schemes. Now, they can even interview those blocked women and make it a front page story. Indeed, power is transient, and when it moves, it moves. I hope those who wield and abuse power today have picked some lessons!
The Sport S team will be leading the Holy Month of Rosary Mass at Yes Centre, Nsambya. Come join us for a time of prayer, reflection, and unity.

Dear women, especially the newly elected Members of Parliament, these are undeniably challenging times for the women’s movement in Uganda. I am aware that the ongoing investigations into allegations of corruption and illicit enrichment against one of our most prominent female leaders, the outgoing Speaker of Parliament, Rt.Hon. Anita Annet Among, have cast a long shadow over the gains women have made in political leadership. They have placed the entire community of women leaders under the microscope, and in such moments, it is natural for doubt, hesitation, and even fear to speak up or negotiate for power. Yet it is precisely in these difficult seasons that principled, courageous leadership is most urgently required.
I appeal to you, with deep respect and conviction, not to shy away from vigorously fighting and negotiating for our rightful space in the Parliament of Uganda. We should not allow the shortcomings of one individual, however senior, to become a collective indictment or a pretext for diminishing women’s representation in the very institution where critical national decisions are made. Our presence, voices, and perspectives are essential to balanced, inclusive, and equitable governance of parliament. If we do not firmly claim and defend this space now, history shows that it may never be available again.
Corruption remains a systemic challenge that must be addressed through individual accountability, never through collective punishment of an entire category of humanity. At no point in our nation’s history have we responded to the failings of male leaders by proposing an entirely women-led organ of government. It would therefore be inconsistent and unjust to allow the alleged transgressions of a single woman to justify an all-male parliamentary leadership. Such a move risks undermining the hard-won strides toward gender inclusivity that Uganda has proudly championed over the years.
I respectfully and earnestly appeal to the @NRMOnline, and particularly to its Chairman, Pres. @KagutaMuseveni, to reconsider any inclination toward an all-male parliamentary leadership.
I pray that wisdom and courage will guide all stakeholders in these sensitive deliberations. @Adrine_kk@RebeccaKadagaUG@JustineLumumba@WanyotoLydia@LillianAber@mkainerugaba@DaudiKabanda
JUST IN⚡️: Robert Kabushenga eyes Moses Magogo FUFA job as IGG opens probe into alleged office misuse.
Magogo is being pushed to step down from office at FUFA to give way for an IGG investigation filed by former Cranes player Mike Mutyaba, into alleged corruption and misuse of office.
As security forces ramp up investigations into former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among, walls are closing in on her husband, Eng Moses Magogo as well, with his job as President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) now under considerable threat.
The latest public pressure on Magogo comes amid calls for accountability and transparency over how football resources have been managed in Uganda under his leadership.
This Thursday morning, former Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga took to social media to trumpet his interest in the FUFA presidency.
Kabushenga indicated that he was dubiously sidelined in the 2013 FUFA presidential elections and now wishes to redeem himself.
In June 2013, I wanted to contest for the (FUFA) Presidency. The law was quickly amended to keep me out,” he said.
“I am back to say I am still available for that task. I can bring about the footballing glory all we Ugandans dream of. Time to save our football from thieves. Let’s take back our game,” Kabushenga wrote.
