The situation was reversed in the 1966 AFL Championship Game, when the Bills were going for a 3-peat, trying to win their third straight AFL title. On that day the Chiefs went into Buffalo and won 31-7, preventing the 3-peat and allowing the Chiefs to advance to Super Bowl I.
