#Breaking Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland's recent comments on her government's "fiscal responsibility" are truly baffling. In an interview today, she praised her government's fiscal management, despite the glaring evidence of financial mismanagement.

Freeland lauded the government's one-time grocery rebates, a measure that she herself admitted won't mitigate the costs of inflation. Yet, she conveniently overlooked the fact that her government's policies have contributed to the very inflation these rebates are supposed to offset.

She glossed over the fact that the deficit for 2023 reached a staggering $40 billion, almost $10 billion higher than initially forecasted. She failed to mention that the government overshot its own 2023 budget by $18 billion. And she didn't address the fact that the carbon tax cost the average household between $402 and $847 in 2023, even after the rebates.

Instead, she patted her government on the back for being "fiscally responsible." It's a statement that flies in the face of the facts and shows a disregard for the financial burdens Canadian families are shouldering due to her government's policies.

This is not fiscal responsibility. It's fiscal negligence. And Canadian taxpayers deserve better. #Cdnpoli
