In the video, the kidnapper using HAUSA language stated that, they want the rest of the money being requested to be delivered.

He also asked the people on social media saying whatever, that he had seen over one thousand people interested in his case. He added that, "if only 1000 of you can contribute 10,000 each, he would've been released"

In the video, you can see how exhausted John is, tired and looking terrible. Still in captivity... With no way to be saved.

In 2002, Miss World beauty pageant in Nigeria was disrupted and ultimately moved to London following religious riots triggered by what was described as a controversial article in ThisDay newspaper.

The article, published on November 16, 2002, suggested that if the Prophet Muhammad were alive, he would have approved of the beauty pageant and might have "chosen a wife" from among the contestants.

This remark was deemed deeply offensive and blasphemous by Muslims in northern Nigeria, fueling riots that led to over 200 deaths and prompted the relocation of the contest to London.

The article sparked severe violence in Kaduna and Abuja. I remember it very well because I was preparing to enter the seminary then. The Kaduna office of ThisDaynewspaper was set on fire on November 20, 2002.

A religious decree (fatwa) was briefly issued against the journalist, who subsequently resigned and went into exile.

I imagined if it was Muhammad that was depicted like a frog. We forgive you, but let us respect each other please.

A man lost his son due to snake bite in Jos, Plateau State.

The man narrated his story on social media (link in comment) where he heard shouts about a snake but before he could get there, his son was bitten.

He rushed the son to OLA Hospital but they demanded that he opens a file, knowing quite well they don't have anti-snake venom, they told him to wait for a Doctor who then told him to take the child to Jankwano Hospital.

He then remembered the government shared snake anti-venom to its hospital, which made him take the son to Plateau State Hospital, but on reaching there, they told him there was only one anti-venom but it was already paid for and will not be given to his son.

Already,the venom had circulated & the boy was running a high fever. He had to call a friend who called a friend in the government to help get a venom. After minutes of waiting, the anti-venom arrives.

After administering the anti-venom, the boy started shaking rapidly but the doctor said twas the anti-venom "working". The boy later got silent after shaking, thinking he was asleep not knowing he gave up the ghost.

Sadly... After all the news of anti-venom distribution? Where did all the anti-venom went to?
