I saved this so I could quote it later.
I'll say the quiet part that we all don't want to say.
When Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life" and "No one comes to the Father except through me", that was a very critical statement.
It means that no matter who or what you worship, as long as it is NOT JESUS, and done the way he taught it, IT IS DARKNESS.
According to the gospel, Jesus is light, hence, everything outside him is darkness.
So when Paul says that "He has delivered us from the power of darkness" it means that ANY belief system, any spiritual system outside Christ is darkness, and ultimately under the contral of Satan.
There is no neutral ground when it comes to spiritual things.
Any spiritual system, belief or practice that does not have Jesus at the center or is done in line with what Jesus taught, including that HE is the WAY, is darkness, and is sponsored by SATAN.
That's what makes Christianity so radical. It's why everyone who preached it when it launched died violently or in chains.
Christianity is exclusionary by design.
It's not a bug. That's it's design.
That's why Jesus said "He that follows that me must leave their father and mother".
And as for your question about "If you were not born into a Christian home, you would not be a Christian"
That's exactly why Jesus gave the great commision
"Go into ALL the world and preach the gospel to EVERY CREATURE"
"Go and TEACH ALL NATIONS"....
In other words, the heaven that the Bible promises, is only for people who believe in Jesus.
So, yes, Mike Bamiloye is NOT wrong to denote any spiritual system or practice outside Christ as darkness.
And that extends to any part of "culture" that touches the spiritual.
Yoruba culture is beautiful, but it is also very tightly woven around a spiritual system, and as such, as a believer, your duty is to discern which ones are ultimately aesthetics and which ones are spiritual practices that are inconsistent with the faith you now have.
This is the faith that you have received.
A faith that shows that Jesus is the ONLY WAY.
It's not very cute, but that's why Jesus died.
No other religious system has their God become a sacrifice for their subjects.
Every other "Spirit" makes demands of it's worshippers.
Only Jesus said "I will give my life for you first".
Grace and Peace to you ma'am
Today, with hearts overflowing with gratitude and love, we celebrate a truly remarkable woman of God, Pastor Yetunde Olukitibi, fondly known and dearly loved as PY.
Words often fall short when trying to express the depth of appreciation we have for all that you do. Your life is a beautiful reflection of God's grace, compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. Through your prayers, sacrifices, wisdom, and genuine love for God's people, you have touched countless lives in ways that only eternity can fully reveal.
Thank you for being a mother to many, a counsellor to the weary, a source of encouragement to the discouraged, and a shining example of what it means to serve God wholeheartedly. Your kindness speaks when words are absent, your smile brings comfort in difficult seasons, and your presence carries an atmosphere of peace and hope.
Thank you for the sleepless nights spent interceding. Thank you for the tears shed in secret for the growth of God's people. Thank you for your unwavering support of our Lead Pastor and for helping to build a ministry that continues to impact lives. Thank you for loving, serving, and giving so selflessly.
As you celebrate another year of God's faithfulness, our prayer is that the Lord will refresh every part of your life. May He reward your labour of love beyond your expectations. May He surround you with joy, strengthen you with divine health, enlarge your influence, and fill your days with peace and laughter. May the same love you have poured into others return to you in overflowing measure.
PY, your life is a gift to this generation, and we are deeply blessed to walk this journey with you. We honour you, we celebrate you, and we thank God for you.
Happy Birthday, Ma.
