Kristen Hammer of @virginmobileusa Hyper Loop One is at the MU Engineering School to teach a masterclass on hyperloop pods. Missouri is one of 7 project areas the hyperloop is considering for potential placement. @MoBusinessAlert

Hammer said the hyperloop has not air pollution, and for utilize many types of energy. The hyperloop is 10 times more energy-efficient than air travel.

They estimate the route from Kansas City from St. Louis would take 30 minutes.

She said the model of pods they are considering could seat 28, would not have an attendant and will have WiFi. @HyperloopOne is engaging in discussion on whether or not a bathroom would be on board.

Hammer represents @HyperloopOne , partnering with @virginmobileusa , us partnered with the Missouri Hyperloop Coalition to discuss the feasibility of coming to Missouri for a Kansas City to St. Louis route.

Hammer said in a feasibility study of a potential route from Kansas City, they determined the price per tickets could be $30 to $40. She did not disclose the price per mile of the route that they anticipate.

She said the @HyperloopOne could potentially move 16,000 passengers per hour per direction.

She said @Virgin was one of 5 companies that picked up the idea of the hyperloop from @elonmusk ‘s white paper in 2013, where it was initially discussed.

Hammer said the earliest the first trip would be in 2028 or 2030, noting they are focusing on both technology and regulation aspects of the loop.

Hollis also presented that Missouri is one of 18 states currently that do not have drink special bans.

The CDC reported that Columbia is the only metropolitan city in the state where more than 1 in 5 adults drink excessively.
