What happens when the health system in #Gaza collapses?
“Pregnant mothers can’t deliver their babies safely. Children can’t get vaccines. The sick and wounded can’t get treatment. People die,” stresses @UNReliefChief Martin Griffiths.
“This war needs to end,” he reiterates.
"The crisis in Gaza is a man-made disaster compounded by dehumanizing language and the use of food, water and fuel as instruments of war."

When it comes to Humanitarian Affairs in Nigeria with regards to Social Protection, I'm yet to see anyone as professional and selfless in handling such like Maryam Uwais MFR.
This is a woman who was tasked with the responsibility of midwifing the social investment programmes of the past administration following the launch of the programmes in their first term. She handled and supervised the implementation of the programmes from state to state, coping with and attending to all the teething problems and challenges that arose in the process.
When Leadership newspapers accused her of misappropriation of SIP funds in 2019, she embarked on a 2-year long legal battle with them and eventually emerged victorious when judgment was given.
After the SIPs were removed from the Presidency and placed under the newly formed Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in the 2nd term of the former administration, she remained with the Presidency and also made responsible for implementing a new social intervention programme known as the At-Risk Children Programme (ARC-P) which was beginning to take shape before the end of the past administration.
She is a true humanitarian, and it will take someone like her to head that Ministry for poor and vulnerable Nigerians to truly benefit from social protection programmes.

Absolutely shocking to hear of the death of #SineadOConnor at the age of 56. A beautiful voice, talented and dedicated to creating a better world. She became a Muslim in 2018 and was known as Shuhada Sadaqat
Allah elevate her rank in Jannah and give family patience to deal with this loss.
Nearly 1.5 billion children under 15 don't have access to social protection—vulnerable to the impacts of poverty and crises.
