A lot of people are asking why Apple releases a new phone every year and it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Nobody is forcing you to upgrade your iPhone every year. In fact, Apple routinely aims their advertising towards people with 3 - 4 year old iPhones.

A yearly upgrade cycle just means that whenever you choose to upgrade, you’ll always be able to purchase an iPhone with the most advanced technology available. If iPhones were released every 2 years, many people would have to upgrade to a year-old iPhone in the event that their old iPhone broke or got stolen.

Also, a yearly release means the previous year’s iPhone gets cheaper with discounts. If you’re tired of a new iPhone every year, just get the discounted one from last year and your problem is solved.

This is such a non-issue. People just love to complain.
