Movies, Documentaries, Films always at night.
Writing notes on my obsidian, - At Night.
There is also a reason why Jesus also prayed at night. Quiet where you are on your own with yo mnd steady.
I don't know if anyone else is like this but I have this thing where I like to watch things late e.g. football matches, tv series, films, music - because it feels like my takes are more my own when I do it this way.
@PastorPhil2@dasscherick Bro you late, where I am, I had been given an opportunity to preach on my local church, I stole everything ... coz it just blessed me this sermon. It was legit good but not only that it transformed me ...
Richard Dawkins is something that I will never comprehend to understand ...
He looks at the universe - No God.
He looks at an AI - He thinks it is conscious ๐
So funny, christian football fans are angry their clubs didnt put the real ressurection story. It was Muslims who demanded & it was LGBTQ+ who were cried when it was their time ..
Remember: People are loyal to their own interest
That includes; Palestine, Israel, Iran, US etc..
The 'early church fathers' are useful to read historically, but not examples to be followed. Some were clearly corrupt. The ekklesia went off the rails in multiple directions in biblical times (revelation 2-3 just one passage of many), I don't know why it would be assumed everything all of a sudden got cleared up and then everything said afterwards should be what we are basing our biblical interpretation upon. Useful to examine presumptions, but the 'I studied the church fatgers now I am [insert denomination]' crowd is a bit misguided...
this then puts people into a cage of always working without end coz they believe its God who is calling them
they work, work, work and work coz their is a moral obligation and hence capitalisim will not end
trapped endlessly.
hmmm!!!๐ค
The first book I have finished reading this year is this book. The Protestant Ethic. Tbh I started like from last year mid December.
I was pushed into reading this book by a friend since I read Mr. Friedman - Religion & Rise of Capitalisim.
And he was not mistaken.
1. Religion & The Rise of Capitalisim
This book tops number 1 in my list. The most thought provoking book I have read this year. Mr. Friedman proposes the notion that Protestantism had brought the capitalist theory of today.
Concepts of freewill that led to free markets ... When Adam Smith wrote his theory, Friedman proposes the protestant movement really paved the way. He has also lecturers in YT that you can watch too to get more understanding but the book is just pure gold.
Number 1. Numero uno.
A brilliant book.
the main idea in the book presents which i got from my own view is that people will tend to see work as worship & its not
while people have done that, the worshiping of work has led to the rise of capitalisim in a way
the attaching work to spirituality has led to capitalisim
