I'm looking for a new #PhD student to come and join our group @ExeterUniMaths. We'll be exploring heat transport in atmospheres within and outside our solar system using @IscaModel and theory. Co-supervised by @WillSeviour and @GeoffVallis. https://t.co/JBQdhrzrsB
Are you at #ams23fluid and want to hear more about @IscaModel? Then head on over to the virtual poster session starting now. I'll discuss the development work we've been doing, and work with @ExeSciCentre to create a web-app for outreach in schools and for teaching
Come check out my #AGU21 poster on Eocene modelling using @IscaModel. Not a huge fan of the format, but I am available on zoom for a chat Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons (UK time). The zoom links are under "video session".

@climatedynamics @StephenIThomson @natgeo_wong @ruth_geen @KongQinqin Check this out too, it may be relevant. I'm easily configured for all sorts of configurations :)

New pre-print on Eocene modelling!
We used @IscaModel to look at the Eocene climate and test its sensitivity to changes in CO2, clouds, and land surface.
Take-away: there is >1 pathway to simulating a climate consistent with current Eocene proxy data.

We're advertising a PhD studentship to study the impacts of Arctic climate change on extreme weather, working with me, @polar_james, @ClimateDann, @WillSeviour and the @metoffice as part of the @GW4plusDTP scheme. Do get in touch if you're interested! https://t.co/dUk8OTowb0
If you're interested in the dynamics of Mars' northern polar vortex, do go and check out @EmilyRBall's new paper. A clever use of @IscaModel and the Socrates radiation scheme, combined with Martian reanalyses.
This just-published paper, 'Reduced High-Latitude Land Seasonality in Climates with Very High CO2', draws some connections, especially with regard to seasonality and polar amplification, between the warm climates of the past (eg early Eocene) and those of the future.
The same goes for our project looking at atmospheric mixing in the atmosphere of Mars with @WillSeviour, @IscaModel and me. Get in touch with Will or me if you're interested. (You can get in touch with @IscaModel if you like, but it's not very chatty!!) https://t.co/yHB41MFRKV
Some people do their careers in an unconventional order. I am pleased to announce that Mark Webb, distinguished senior scientist in our field, author of so many insightful and impactful papers on clouds & climate, will be awarded a PhD by Publication from the University of Exeter
New preprint on a robust mechanism for reduced high-latitude land seasonality in climates with very high carbon dioxide.
With @GeoffVallis, and help from @IscaModel team.

Tl;dr version below. Feedback welcome!
This spring Pangeo will launch a new seminar series for sharing scientific software, data, and workflows. We are seeking volunteers to give a 15-minute presentation, which will be recorded and DOId!

The team, whipped into shape by grad student and non-tweeter Ross Castle, have been documenting my features and how to use them. See
