Ese Brume competed in women's Long Jump for the first time in 9 months, taking part at the LA Grand Prix.
The Nigerian and African record holder jumped a respectable 6.53m (+2.5), finishing 5th in the event which was won by world champion, Tara Davis-Woodhall, who jumped 7.25m (+3.3).
The American had earlier jumped a wind legal Personal Best and World Lead of 7.20m.
Meanwhile, in the men's Shot Put, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi threw a mark of 21.33m to finish 5th, with Jamaica's Rajindra Campbell taking the win with a mark of 21.94m.

Favour Ofili won the women's 200m at the LA Grand Prix, and it was a good performance from her, running into a headwind to win her first 200m race in 2026.
Ofili claimed an easy victory, winning the race in 22.45s (-3.1), way ahead of Gemima Joseph who was 2nd in 22.88s, and Rosemary Chukwuma grabbing 3rd spot in 22.94s

Temitope Adeshina has claimed her first NCAA Outdoor High Jump title, clearing 1.96m for the crown in Eugene!
Adeshina and her bigvest rival Rose Yeboah 🇬🇭 both cleared 1.96m, but the Nigerian came out on top on countback after a flawless competition, clearing every height on her first attempt.
The victory gives Adeshina her first NCAA Outdoor crown, adding to the NCAA Indoor titles she won in 2025 and 2026.
