Q6 Just like students, teachers need leaders to model the “why” for them. It goes back to having a clear focus and understanding. More focused PD to demonstrate why it’s worth doing. It’s so important to have our leaders and school teams working together. #INedchat
Last question for tonight! Give this one some extra thought. #INedchat
“... knowing what to do isn’t enough; people need to also know why it’s worth doing.” - Schmoker
Q5 Our greatest area of growth has been our adoption of F&P classroom. It has increased our students love of reading and comprehension. We have also focused on SEL which has made some positive changes in our students and staff. All backed by administration. #INedchat
Another critical reflection question coming your way! #INedchat
“...when the gap between best practices and common practices is as wide as it is today ... conditions are optimal for both swift and significant improvement.” - Schmoker
Q4 Teachers need to have all of these in place when instructing. The checks for understanding are an essential part of the lesson to help the teachers and students adjust what is necessary to make the lesson and learning successful. #INedchat
Great discussion so far! Don't forget to use #INedchat in each of your replies.
“Clear learning objectives, step-by-step teaching, focused practice, checking for understanding, and adjusting instruction are the most important elements of effective lesson delivery.”
