After stone-pelting, when surveillance was conducted using drones, the Haridwar police found nothing but stones upon stones on the rooftops; 9 peacefuls arrested
- A girl had relationship with four boys during her college days.
- Parents deliberately looked for NRI groom so that he doesn't get to know much about her past.
- They got married. Husband found out about her past and was distraught about the lies he was told.
- Parents and the girl filed domestic violence and dowry complaints against the husband and are worried about alimony.
What is wrong with parents these days???
A total of 3,779 acres of land was acquired for the international airport at Devanahalli (now KIA), the process for which began in 2000. Of the 3,779 acres, 1,990 acres belonged to farmers (rest being government land).
The farmers received a then princely compensation of ₹15 lakh per acre! Today, land kilometres away from the airport isn't available for less than ₹10 crore per acre. How many farmers who received ₹15 lakh then managed to convert it to ₹10 crore as of today? They weren't sons of politicians who magically multiply their assets every five years! Sons and daughters of those farmers who gave up their lands for Rs.15 lakh can be seen working for paltry salaries today in the same surroundings. Not everyone has the accumen of a DK Shivakumar or an Elon Musk.
The ongoing debate around the proposed Bidadi Township raises the same fundamental question: when agricultural land is acquired in the name of development, who is the final beneficiary of the massive increase in land value that follows? The original landowners obviously don't. Of course the politicians who have already purchased lands around the acquired land years earlier are the biggest beneficiaries and so are the corporations and speculators who fund the politicians.
True, development creates wealth. The real question is whether people who part with their land get a fair share of this wealth? Those who gave up their lands for the international airport should have got a share in the ownership of the airport. Those who lose their land for mines, industries and companies should also receive part ownership of the new enterprises.

“He hits like a truck. Nobody hit me harder than Justin Garthje. His kicks, punches, left hook, right uppercut.”🥶
Deeply shocking to read this official US statement, which contains absolutely no expression of regret or condolence for the loss of innocent Indian lives. How can a “friend” and strategic partner be so deeply insensitive?
Why couldn’t a non-compliant commercial vessel have been stopped using other, non-lethal means? Is it not possible to disable a ship's propulsion or steering without firing missiles targeted to kill civilian crew members?
Practically every merchant ship navigating these crucial waters has Indian crew on board. Are they all considered fair game for US missiles now?
This approach is unacceptable and I hope @DrSJaishankar had said so to @marcorubio.
My problem is with the FIR. Everything else is a social reaction that the comedian Pranit More along with the two audience members cracking those jokes should have to accept. You cannot tell people they cannot be outraged. Let them outrage. But the FIR is ridiculous.
Yes it was Balasaheb sitting at Amarnath protecting cave at sub zero temperatures and over the surrounding hills with AK-47 not the Indian army soldiers , or CRPF & RR Bn’s which were guarding Highways 24*7.
All this while Dawood was running Mumbai under his nose planing 26/11 . DARE!!
