After watching the isese video yesterday, someone mentioned this documentary on Netflix. The irony is that the Yorubas who were once enslaved have managed to preserve the culture that some Yorubas at home are actively abandoning. It saddens me to see that many of our people no longer prioritize speaking our language.

Nevertheless, I am grateful that the Yoruba language and culture have transcended beyond Africa's borders. Their influence and significance remain widespread and resonate with people around the world. And maybe in no distance time, it's the real custodian that will be travelling to the US for ODUNDE, Brazil for OLUDUM or Regla de Ocha in Cuban.
