Our paper on preterm children's narrative skills is now published! I am so grateful to my advisor @GoksunTilbe and amazing co-authors @serefesmer@Isildogan_@oedemir@AsliErciyes . Our findings show that preterm children’s narratives are comparable to those of full-term children
A recent paper from our lab led by my wonderful graduate student İbrahim! @ibrahimakkan_@serefesmer@Isildogan_@oedemir@AsliErciyes

Great results!! Also fits with our previous finding that Turkish children also use iconic gestures before English speaking children with Furman et al :) probably due to verb dominant structure of Turkish
Our study shows that iconic gesture comprehension is linked to receptive vocabulary in Turkish-learning children under 26 months. This age is before toddlers typically have a spurt in their use and comprehension of iconic gestures. Check out the paper, which was part of my thesis
Congratulations to my good friend Dr. Katie Graf Estes @kgrafestes on receiving a grant from NSF to study “Dynamics of early bilingual development”, an important yet understudied topic! @UCDavisPsych @UCD_CMB @UCDLandS!
Either I’m hitting a wall with seeing the same few papers or there’s just not a ton of work in this area…
I’m looking for papers studying visual statistical learning in kids (5+ year-olds) and adults. Do your thing twitter!
