@RealDeclou@JustAMillenay Your point was that “realism always looks bad” when it comes to superheroes, with an exception of Spider-man, and as we see - it’s not the case.
If realistic portrayal of superhero character is done right, it will look good, with whatever outfit they’re wearing.
@JustAMillenay Hyper realism fits superhero themes if it’s done right.
And obviously it will always look “not fitting” for people who generally prefer stylized / cartoony graphics, even if most people prefer well done hyper realism interpretation of the same thing.

@Rav_Angell@fxllen616@SpideParker@Nachet__ Yeah, just like he was always in comics
Casting Hugh Jackman made people think that he’s supposed to be tall, but it’s not true.
@zennyyyplus Realism is not an issue, it’s possible to create attractive people in hyperrealistic style if you aren’t biased to create mid or ugly people in that style for some weird reason.
@CRIPTIC45@OctoY1 While she’s not a prime example of stereotypically hot woman, she STILL has more feminine traits:
- higher set, arched eyebrows with a wide gap
- no hooded eyelids => bigger looking eyes
- long, voluminous hair that softens her features
- no nostril exposure in same angle
@MagikNaevis@OctoY1 Jean Grey is a character that’s portrayed as 10/10 woman with conventionally attractive feminine looks most of the time, so obviously it looks out of place when she doesn’t match that look.
People wouldn’t care as much if it was a character that’s supposed to be mid-looking.
@MaryMotherJoe@OctoY1 Majority of people aren’t in interested in normal looking people in fictional media
We’re here for unrealistic perfection, not boring normal stuff we can see in real life.
@Croftlover7 Not sure if they are obvious in their attempts though
Also would be great if they at least tried to match outfit colors and makeup, but that’s too much effort I guess
@NicMK3 Her upper eyelid exposure + eye shape differ too much to say that current Kitana is an accurate depiction of original character look.
On this art and in other types of media pre-MK11 she always had more ethnically ambiguous look rather than how she looks in the game nowadays.
@BloodbladeFC@croftsblade There is no need for complex analysis.
She’s character of Edenian race, portrayed as Caucasian woman Becky Gable with digitally altered skin tone on top of her unaltered Caucasian facial features.
That’s what she’s known to look like.
