Piyush Pandey, the veteran of Advertising has passed away this morning.
He was just 70.
As an enthusiast and student of Advertising, Piyush was my hero. If I got to meet him once, it would be my dream come true.
However, life gave me juicier opportunities. Not only did I get to meet him more than once - I was lucky enough to interview him a few times and also fortunate enough to just be able to pick up the phone and get his advice on anything and everything.
Over multiple cups of chai at his house, discussing everything under the sun, we forged a relationship that would be more Guru-Shishya like from my end, but the humble generous giant that he was - he called me “Partner”
Just like his iconic ads, he saved his best for the last - where this Janmashtami - he visited our house and blessed our daughter.
I’m thankful for all the love he’s bestowed upon me but extremely angry at him for leaving so abruptly.
Partner, your promise of Kachoris in Jaipur and some more visits over unending cups of Chai - remains unfulfilled.
I know you will not rest, even up there in the heavens, instead - will play cricket, music and create better advertising for the Gods who decided to just pull you out without warning.
Will miss you, sir. A lot.

Women demanded equal rights in Dhaka. This angered the Islamists who protested by beating & torturing an effigy of a woman.
FYI, this Qaum is called the most progressive religion as per Leftists, Islamists & Feminists!!
