In today's Arab League emergency meeting, I highlighted the dangerous plan by Ethiopia to control the entrances to the Red Sea, threatening global trade and navigation. We urged Arab countries to unite and stand with Somalia in confronting this aggressive plan. Solidarity is key.

It is contradictory for Ethiopia to act as the host country for the African Union headquarters while violating the core principles established in the AU charter. The Ethiopian government's disregard for Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity goes against the fundamental principles of the AU, which prioritize the respect for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of member states.

In light of these violations, we firmly support the idea of relocating the AU headquarters to a different country that upholds the principles and spirit of the AU charter. This would ensure that the organization's core values are upheld and respected by the host nation.
