Tonight I won the prize for Scottish Writers Association Best General Novel. It was for my nanowrimo, a book about a corpse being kept as a pet by children.
Honestly wild. Cannot quite believe it.

@Emma_Seith I'm curious to see if funding has improved since I did mine in 2017. No pay on placements, but you get travel paid... A month after the placement is done? Money was so tight on pgde. How can we ask people to move career essentially for free?
I love my kindle, it's so handy, but I feel like I'm missing out on how beautiful this art is. 😍😍
Honestly will demolish with gusto anything Sarah J Mass writes.

Anyone else, like, super into stickers?
This is my work notebook where I write important things about grades, lesson ideas, observations and to do lists... And it has stickers on it. 😂

I'm in the local paper for my teaching antics! I dressed up as a strict Victoria teacher. Thing is, I didn't even buy a costume-I just own a lot of Victoria looking stuff 😂

I'm mega pleased for my #writers club.
We were awarded a grant for 6 months room hire!
I'm really pro removing barriers to creativity and so pleased my clubs members don't have to worry about big fees.

I live in a part of Scotland that has been totally shut off due to snow this week (Thursday there were literally no roads open) and now I'm seeing roads getting shut due to the Storm. Honestly- I love it. Makes me feel tough and hardy in this hard to get to place.
@KarlstanV I'm working my way through Soy Sauce for Beginners by Kirsten Chen. It's both really interesting and very easy to put down. I realise that such a weird review...

@Maria_Tureaud as someone with a baby, one which I am hoping to indoctrinate into the lotr clan, I fear this may be my future. I am sorry for your pain and worryingly anticipate I might meet you there one day.
@ex__ghoulfriend Here! Youth? Blech, who needs it. Saturday nights in watching dancing fruit with the baby while drinking decaf drinks is the way forward- right?
@EdgeOErin1 I don't think I could comment now. Never read them since my mid teens and feel no need to. The core memory I have of them says 'they were amazing and perfection'. Too scared to look now. Never meet your heroes and that. 😂
@EdgeOErin1 Hot damn. The Wind on Fire Trilogy by William Gibson. I was in my early teens and puberty hormonal af. I loved those books and still love those books. The ending in Firesong (the last one) hit me hard and I was teary on the staircase when Mum asked me wtf was wrong.
Did I write today? No. Did I edit today? Also no. Did I spend a long time making absolutely top tier playlists for all of the main characters of my book? You bet your hide I did.

Hi #WritersOfTwitter ✨
I write about Scottish people in a range of genres.
This board is for my female led cyberpunk adventure- missing sisters, tech, flotillas and being able to traverse the internet.

@kwfostertweets Alas fantasy in our 30s has that extra edge. We can go to the tavern but we have to feel guilty about all the tasks back home that haven't been done. We can search for the dragon horde but wonder if we should be putting more of it into savings or investments...
Do you ever edit some of your old work and think 'what the hang was I thinking?'. That's me today. The head hopping was real in 2020 it seems.

I wrote a short story about a proposal gone awry under the Northern Lights. 'The Northern Lights are not Green'. Read it here:
