A team of elite ballers from across Long Island that constantly put fear into their opponent’s eyes. NOT affiliated with any local NHL team whatsoever.
INJURY NEWS:
SG Cullen sustained a high right ankle sprain during Sunday’s hard-fought victory. He is currently resting, wrapping and elevating the injured foot in hopes he’ll be able to play Sunday. Team trainer currently has him as probable, whereas Nick and Sal are doubtful.
GAME UPDATE:
The Lads win, I repeat the Lads win!!!Rolling out only 6 and mainly hungover members, the feisty squad was able to muster up a 37-31 victory on Sunday in large part due to Mal’s strong scoring output and Pat’s 14 free throw attempts. They are now in 10th place.
GAME DAY:
The Lads, while still reeling from back to back loses, will look to get on track today as tip off is at 6pm. B-Bush and Cullen make their returns to the lineup as Sal will miss another marquee matchup. The team will don their black uniforms to change up the vibes.
GAME UPDATE:
After weeks of rainouts and cancellations, the Lads finally have some nice weather for Sunday ball. They will be taking on former Winter league teammate and noted Lads rival Christian S’s squad in a 4pm tip-off. They will be without big man Sal to no one’s surprise.
GAME UPDATE:
The rain truly hates the Lads. Game one was suspended with the Lads down 20-9 with 0:19 left in the 1st half. This game will be resumed at a later date so the final outcome is pending until its resumption. On his birthday, Cullen chipped in a team-high 4 points.
GAME UPDATE:
The doubleheader is back on! After weeks of confusion and media turmoil surrounding a potential 2 in 1, it is confirmed the Lads will play game one today tipping off at 5:00pm and game two immediately after at 6:00pm. Today, the real regular outdoor season begins.
GAME UPDATE:
Today’s much anticipated doubleheader has been cancelled due to potential rain in the area. The Lads are frustrated with the lack of games, but are determined to get better so they will participate in a pickup/practice session to hone in on their skills.
GAME DAY:
The Lads are faced with the tough task of a back-to-back doubleheader in the hot summer sun with game one tipping off at 4pm and game two immediately after at 5pm. They will need their best effort from all members of the roster to get them back in the win column.
GAME UPDATE:
The Lads staged a late comeback after being down 10+ late to cut the deficit to only three, but were unable to complete the full comeback as they took a tough 57-52 L. The boys are right there and are determined to clean up their two-minute drill and finish games.
GAME NIGHT:
The summer league Lads take will be participating in a whiteout game tonight under the lights at 9:00. They are hoping to see the season debuts of Pat and Sal, as well as the return of Sacks from injury after two weeks of rest. They are determined to get on track.
INJURY UPDATE:
PG Mike “Sacks” suffered a sprained thumb that will cost him 1-3 weeks. After debuting hungover on Sunday, he’ll look to return to the court soon and get his season going in the right direction. The Lads will count on his driving, passing and three point prowess.
The Lads 3.5 season wrapped up two weeks ago with a 70-55 playoff L. A revamped Lads 4.0 team played this following Sunday in an outdoor league and let a late lead slip, resulting in a 45-41 L. No game this week but we are excited for good things to come out of this squad.
After last week’s L, the Lads return to action tonight at 10pm in their regular season finale/play-in game. N. Patrichuk (vertigo) will be active, player coach Cisco tells media. Conner and Christian S also make their returns to the lineup after a brief G-league stint.
The Lads play “green” team tonight as they ramp up for the playoffs. Game time has been pushed back till 8pm, likely due to a multitude of sponsors, scouts and reps all flying in from out of town to attend the game. The Lads will only be 6 deep as their roster is trimmed down.
The Lads covered tonight’s 19-point spread, but unfortunately weren’t able to muster up a win versus “Red team.” Solid contributions from Nook who was cooking both inside and outside, as well as the welcomed return of B-Bush were some positive signs to build off going forward.
Your leading scores from two weeks ago Cullen (career high 19 pts.) and Cisco (career high 16 pts.) are here to remind you to tune into Lads basketball this Wednesday at 7pm. We still have a few regular season games left to gear up in time for playoffs.
LADS UPDATES:
The Lads returned to game action last week, but took a 73-42 L. Cullen poured in 17 second half points and the other guards also put in work. Mike, Cisco and Cullen played some outdoor pickup today to increase their chemistry leading up to tomorrow’s 7pm tip-off.
Another week, another game pushed back due to the league’s incompetence and/or hatred towards the Lads. We won’t have an official game until this upcoming Monday at 7pm in a new, currently undisclosed location. We appreciate our loyal fans sticking with us through these events.
GET UP FOR LADS BASKETBALL TONIGHT!!
Unfortunately, we are unlikely to guarantee a game happening tonight due to a serious gym issue that may result in a lawsuit. The team is sick and tired of essentially being “locked out” (Coach Carter style) and desperately just want to ball.
