New Government Consultation: The government is seeking views on proposals to boost energy efficiency in privately rented homes across England & Wales.

Key proposals include:

🔹Flexible upgrades – Start with fabric improvements such as loft insulation, cavity wall & double glazing, then consider solar panels & batteries.

🔹Cost cap and support – £15K maximum spending per property, with grants available

🔹Affordability exemptions – A £10K cap for properties in lower rent areas or lower council tax bands

🔹Timeline – all rental properties must meet a minimum EPC C by 2030, with homes already rated A-C remaining compliant until their EPC expires.
