Hon Muntaka should be removed not because he’s not a Ghanian, unqualified or incompetent but because he’s a Muslim? Lot has been vomited and can’t be swallowed back.
History will remember this day!
Hon. Muntaka is a deeply religious Muslim, and in my view, that makes him unsuitable for such a sensitive national security position, where neutrality, sound judgment, and the ability to manage religious tensions are absolutely critical.
I believe his strengths would have been better suited to the position of Majority Leader, where his political experience and parliamentary leadership could have been put to better use.
This is not about attacking anyone’s faith. It is about whether the person occupying a sensitive security portfolio has the temperament, judgment, and capacity required to protect the interests of the entire nation.
President Mahama respectfully reassigned him to parliament.
