Investment Fiji recently had a site visit in Vanua Levu to find and connect local opportunities that are ready for foreign investment.
As part of our strategy to bring more capital into the North, we are reaching out directly to farmers and manufacturers to see how we can help them grow.
We found great opportunities in sectors like kava, manufacturing, cacao, cinnamon, and forestry. Our goal is to link these local businesses with the global partners they need to scale up their production and reach new export markets.
Investment Fiji is ready to help investors connect with these local opportunities and support them through every step of the journey.

Investment Fiji is moving beyond traditional trade to help transform our raw harvests into premium products. This strategy ensures Fiji’s goods are more competitive and can be sold at a better price in global markets.
In New Delhi, we met with Mr. Praveer Shrivastava, Executive Director of the Plant Based Foods Industry Association (PBFIA). Our goal is to position Fiji as the main hub for making healthy, plant-based food in the Pacific. By bringing expert knowledge to local facilities, we can help our farmers prepare their products.
We also met with Dr. Shivam Sharma, Director of Partnerships and the team at Absolute Biotech to establish a Fiji-India Agri-Industrial Partnership and to discuss how modern science can help Fijian farmers. Absolute specializes in using natural "good bacteria" (microbes) to create natural fertilizers, which helps plants grow healthy without the need for harsh chemicals. We are also exploring how this science can help us understand Kava better, leading to new types of drinks and health products that can be sold globally .
Why These Meetings Matter?
By targeting these specific sectors, we are opening up new markets for Fijian products like Kava, Cassava, and Root Crops. We are not just looking for investment; we are looking for the technology that creates better jobs and a stronger future for all Fijians.
