One of my favorite shows as a child was Gene Roddenberry's Earth Final Conflict series. I don't think anyone has ever made a fanmade interface like this, here's one of the control consoles for the Taelon Mothership. #earthfinalconflict#taelons#mothership#ui#hud#alien
I remember when the original Star Trek came out. Me and my friends were really impressed by the Enterprise design - so different from the rocket ships we’d seen up to them.
We discussed possible reasons for the Enterprise’s shape endlessly. It was so fascinating.
The vessel below is obviously created only in a failed attempt to “look cool”. It stimulates zero curiosity or discussion. What a failure.
@venturepictures They miss logic and a certain plausibility that SciFi needs for world building. Why is this huge donut hole needed? What are these lines that sometimes look like windows and sometimes like orientation lines? Why does hull plating still look like coming from 2026? All unanswered…
@Ginger_Trekkie @JayR_Xx It has some nice elements. I like the generative dot pattern structure at the top. It could be a nice element for new ship. Not a convinced fan of the metal-patch texture, though.
@KelvinsTimeline @Ginger_Trekkie I thought the same. Previous sets were smaller which created a sense of togetherness. And I mean just in terms of how the design influences the perception of space.
@DylanWassell6 That would have been my Enterprise F, tbh. It‘s wonderfully designed. All proportions and textures work out so well. I have nothing but compliments for it!
