On this Resurrection Sunday of Holy week, we remember that the tomb was empty.
It was not for Jesus’ benefit that the stone was rolled away, but for His followers, that they might see.
Luke 24:1-6
On Saturday of Holy week, we remember the followers of Christ sitting in this day of confusion, sorrow, trauma, question, fear, and silence.
The disciples did not know what to do, they were in the “waiting” a place many of us might find ourselves.
On Friday of Holy week, we remember why it is called “Good Friday” this is the day our Savior was beaten, tormented, and killed for us. He took on the judgment we deserved, that we might trade our brokenness and death for His peace and life.
Luke 22:43-45
On Thursday of Holy week, we remember Christ's last supper with His disciples.
This was the moment Christ established the Eucharist/Communion for His followers to remember Him and what He has done.
Luke 22:19-20
On Wednesday of Holy week. I want to remember Mary, who chose to extravagantly worship Jesus.
Luke 12:3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
Tuesday of Holy week. We remember Jesus cursing the fig tree for not bearing fruit for Him. This is a reminder to us that every season in our lives should bear fruit for the King. Paul told Timothy “…Be ready in season and out of season..”- 2 Timothy 4:2. And so to should we.
