That's Jeff Bezos as CEO of a small startup called Amazon
His desk is a door; see the cheap logo. Jeff probably did it himself. The computer is old school. When this picture was taken, Jeff was already a billionaire from Amazon, yet see his office
Why?
He says, "It's a symbol of spending money on the things that matter to customers, and not spending money on the things that don't."
Key phrase: “matter to customers”
Nigerian first-generation banks installed air conditioning and had computers in their banking halls because it was essential to their customers. That's why they gobbled up market share and challenged the legacy banks
It shows in the financials. Amazon reinvested almost all it made in turnover back to growing and scaling the business; today it's a Mag 7 Stock
Now, this is Bezos' philosophy: he does not sell to customers from his office. I bet his website has modern servers and routers
The lesson here is to be very frugal with corporate start-up cash, especially as a CEO, if you were hired as a President at Amazon, and you see Jeff’s office, it's difficult for you to order a $5000 L-shaped table from Paris
Jeff is leading by example; this is what is called communicating Vision
As a father of 2 & a husband to a woman who almost died during pregnancy, I would briefly weigh in on the ongoing discourse…
I entered marriage & expecting to have my own kids without knowing what the 9 months of pregnancy looked like…
I hear what women go through during the 1st trimester especially but I never knew mine would be a nightmare of some sort.
We prayed for a baby after a year of waiting & a miscarriage; God answered & the pregnancy was confirmed.
Within 5 weeks of pregnancy, my wife began vomiting incessantly, couldn’t eat our regular food anymore, began making interesting demands on what she has appetite for, writhing in pains at odd hours of the night, stomach pains, excessive weakness, etc.
My wife was literally “useless” in the 1st 3 months - she could be lying looking like one who was lifeless while she was in pain & so much discomfort. She could hardly stand on her feet.
In all of these, I would prepare breakfast & lunch before I leave for work, get back to make dinner, bath her sometimes, clean the house; bath my daughter, feed her, dress her up for school & cook for her when my wife was pregnant with our 2nd.
During the first, it got to a point, her parents felt so much pity for me, they had to come take her to their house to care for her so I could take a break. They did same too during our second pregnancy. She would be back mid-2nd trimester.
During those times, after a busy day at work, I could barely sleep at night.
There were times I had to dash down to amala joint from work cos that’s what she craved most afternoons, take it to her at home & get back to work that same afternoon.
During delivery, I barely slept as well as she too. She had a tear and a pile that never existed which became unbearable for her after childbirth. Was I the one with all of these issues? No. Did they bother me & take a toll on me? Yes
The summary of all of this story is this…
1. It’s highly irresponsible, insensitive & cruel for any married person who has been a part of pregnancy & delivery to compare what husband faced to what wife faced.
Both faced hell but one is way higher than the other; that does not however invalidate what the man experienced.
2. It is even more insensitive for anyone especially a wife to disregard what a responsible & dutiful man did through the period of pregnancy, delivery & post-delivery. It’s very unfair
If the singles are arguing, leave them to it, when it’s their turn, they will understand better.
3. I honour& respect every woman who have their kids especially single moms who had no man by them or those with grossly irresponsible husbands; similarly I respect men who were dutiful & acted responsibly during these phases with their wives. Kudos to you all.
May God grant us all wisdom.

Idris Abdulrasheed Adeiza just shared his semester one first year result with me. GPA of 4.74. He is currently studying software engineering at FUTA.
He was amongst the people who scored 300 and above in JAMB last year, but had no one to sponsor them. I chose to invest in him.
Had the honor of playing a simultaneous chess match against 10 people at the prestigious Harvard University chess club. I won 8 games and drew 2.
The Chess masterclass was a resounding success and we had some nice Nigerian jollof afterwards 🇳🇬
He specifically named Boko Haram.
I repeat, he specifically named Boko Haram as a recipient of US intelligence funding.
I have nothing further to say. My work here is done.
I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.
I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible pride everytime I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honour only bestows upon a few lucky footballers.
It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think from leaving Madrid as a young boy we would achieve what we did together.
Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.
Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me.
We’ve seen it all. 🤘🏼❤️
