Real talks.
Sometimes, you can have everything and still feel so empty.
The past few weeks have been emotionally draining. I spoke to my psychologist, and she was like, “Guy, you’re absolutely fine.” But somehow, I still feel this void inside me.
I honestly don’t know how to explain it.
Is this feeling normal?
@SgtShow01 I have a running business that requires funds to patch through this season, so I'm definitely investing all into the business. 12 months is enough to cough out that money while maintaining a smooth operation in my business.
Note: I have a savings structure already in place.
@silverpenydr This laptop is so lovable; I'm just imagining myself with a laptop like this, omo ehn...
Grateful for my outdated Lenovo Thinkpad; it's way better than having none.
Please take some rest Doc.
Some time ago, when things were really tough for me financially, I decided to do something unusual.
One Sunday, we were having a men's meeting in church, planning for our District Men's Programme. We needed to feed the men for the two-day programme.
I don't know what came over me, but I told the president:
"I will take care of the feeding."
Deep down, I knew I didn't have the money. 😭
Days passed, and I completely forgot about my promise.
Then on Thursday, just before the programme, I was sitting in my office when my phone rang.
"Nduka, about the feeding you promised to take care of—the food vendor said it will cost ₦XYZ."
Ah! 😭
I suddenly remembered.
I dropped the phone and thought:
"Oh God! I don't have this money."
But I continued with my work.
Not long after, my office landline rang.
"Nduka, please, we need you to do a portrait for us."
I gave them my bill.
They paid immediately.
I looked at the amount.
It was enough!
I quickly called the church and transferred the money for the feeding.
I was still thanking God when the brother from church called again.
"Nduka, sorry, we forgot to add the refreshments for the night vigil."
Ah! 😂
Okay o.
And then...
My office landline rang AGAIN.
"Nduka, sorry. We actually need TWO portraits, not one. Please give us the bill for the second portrait."
I gave them the bill.
They paid immediately again.
I called the church and transferred the additional money for the refreshments.
I just sat there amazed.
Oh my God. Thank You, Lord! 🙏🏿
That experience did something to me.
My confidence in God's provision grew mightily that day.
Sometimes, you may not know where the provision will come from.
You may not know how God will make a way.
But I have learnt from my own journey that God can send provision from a direction you never expected, at the very moment you need it.
Praise the Lord! 🙏🏿❤️
@JahBlesssaint21 But why on earth are two people living together and not living together?
Is marriage supposed to be doing life together or doing life differently?.
Where exactly is she going to get the money first of all to replace the house rent?
@Wizarab10 This is exactly what we don't talk about enough; not everyone is strong enough to move on from things like this.
Some of these become a lifetime trauma that takes a lot to heal from; we need to do better as individuals and as a society also.
Real talks.
LOVE is a responsibility.
LOVE is a commitment.
LOVE is a task.
LOVE is not just a feeling; it is more than just a feeling. So when you say you love someone, you have accepted a responsibility, a commitment, and a task that you must accomplish.
Real talks.
@Wizarab10 My candid advice is for you to save tiny portions of whatever you earn, no matter how little.
There is a flexible savings pattern for every individual and for every income bracket. Don't get carried away with whatever is happening out there. SAVE O!!!
@a4lasade Life's lessons are numerous; I told someone sometime ago that a man does not create time for a lady for no reason, especially when it has to do with the person going all out just for the lady.
@Wizarab10 That's right, there shouldn't be any justification for being in a relationship without doing what it basically requires.
That's the more reasons people should get into relationships with a clear purpose and the responsibility to love and be loved.
This is beautiful and also a testament that great things can be achieved if we don't give up.
kudos to you for following through and constantly building.
God bless your hustle.
This was me in 2012 when I delivered cake to my customer.
I was a baker, I baked cakes, meat pies, etc but I was more popular with my meat pies.
The meat pie took me to places, people didn’t let me rest especially Christmas period because of end of the year party.
I remembered when I baked for 1000 people in the popular main market Onitsha. I would bake by 4am and by 7am, I will be sold out because I targeted bankers and students.
I don too hustle for this life before God opened my chapter in 2023.
Now I run a big kilishi brand and other products where people earn too.
Power of consistency, I constantly show up since I started business.
I have not gotten to where I want but God has been faithful.
Do you still want to give up?
My father called me last week and said he needed 500,000 naira urgently. He promised to pay back. My father is a man of his word, so I disturbed my emergency funds and sent it.
Just yesterday, he called me to come to the house immediately. I grumbled because I was far away, but I rushed down.
He presented land documents to me.
He had bought my first land for 2.4 million naira, in my name. He just needed me to come and append my signature.
He said he never wanted that land to pass me by, so he used what he had and got the 500,000 naira balance from me without telling me why.
Then he said something that broke me:
"Since after your secondary education, I have never really had the privilege to gift you anything. You even sponsored yourself through school because I was incapable. This is my little gift to you."
I am finally a land owner. Courtesy of my loving Dad. ❤️
Above all, love God.
@Wizarab10 The fact that most of these things are what some people defend sometimes is annoying, some men become slave in their own house all in the name of relationship or marriage.
The worst is when they make it look like that's the right template and how it should be everywhere. smh.
There’s something about THE POWER OF ACHIEVEMENT that really got me this September.
So, while everyone was celebrating the new month, I was on my way to get cough syrup for my wife and baby girl when my very good friend called me to show me the latest KIA Jeep he just bought.
Omo! My brain just pop! 😮💨….2nd car in 2 years, and son of man is still here jumping keke and Danfo. 🤭
Throughout the call, I was genuinely happy for him. We celebrated his win together, and I was really proud of him.
But immediately the call ended……BOOOOM!
One strange feeling just entered my head: “When you sef go drive your own car?” 😭😂
Lemme not lie, that question hit me deep because I couldn’t even answer it.
But thank God for the Holy Spirit because another thought suddenly came: “At least you get inverter, and you no dey buy fuel again.” 😂
Omo! The way I burst out laughing on the road ehn…You would think I was going crazy. 😂
But honestly, that experience reminded me of something: Every achievement, no matter how small, does something to your mind.
There’s a certain confidence and feel-good energy that comes with knowing you have achieved something. Sometimes, you can’t even explain it. You just feel good about yourself.
And on those days when life makes you feel like you’re not doing enough, you can always look back at the things you’ve achieved and remind yourself: “Omo, I have actually come far.”
That’s why I now see every achievement as a kind of emotional savings account.
You may not need it today, but on the days when you feel low, you can withdraw some confidence, hope and motivation from it.
So please, never belittle your small wins.
That little thing you achieved may be the very thing that gives you strength on a difficult day.
Celebrate your progress. You’re doing better than you think. ❤️
@Grace_undiluted sometimes the problem with many ladies out there with those kind of propaganda is that there is a part of them that is always haunting them for most of those lifestyles they lived.
The bitter truth is they will never admit that publicly, but in their private corners they do.
In my university days, I didn’t date anyone in school, didn’t sleep with anyone, didn’t bribe any security guy nor lecturers.
Read, sold palm oil on the side, passed all my exams, graduated.
Now I have my own apartment, I travel, live comfortably with a good steady income. Have assets and investments.
I know ladies who did the opposite and are not doing half as good as I’m doing now.
So yes, “Good girl Dey pay.”
You people should stop this propaganda and let women choose how to live. Good girl ohh, bad gorl, let them choose.
Stop trying to tell young girls that being “good girls” is not rewarding.
