Wishing good luck to China's Tianwen-2 asteroid sample return mission, which launched in 2025 and is currently en route to 469219 Kamoʻoalewa. Tomorrow, on 7th June Beijing Time, it will perform its orbit insertion burn, after which it will begin close-proximity study of the asteroid and collect samples before departing Kamoʻoalewa in early 2027. The sample return capsule will then separate from the main spacecraft, while the spacecraft will continue its journey to the main asteroid belt using Earth's gravity for a slingshot maneuver, where it is scheduled to enter orbit around the active asteroid 311P/PanSTARRS in early 2035. #Tianwen2 #China #CNSA #Kamoʻoalewa #469219Kamoʻoalewa #311PPanSTARRS #AsteroidSampleReturn #DeepSpace #Spaceflight #PlanetaryScienc
Why are we wasting fuel fighting gravity?
Just create a zero gravity field around the launch pad so rockets barely need any fuel to leave Earth.
Problem solved.
🎥 Watch the completion of a key integration activity for the ULTRA lunar lander Structural Model (SM)!
After rotating and positioning the ULTRA SM upper assembly, our engineering crew tackled the next challenge: carefully aligning it with the lander's primary structure.
This video captures the final stages of that operation, where precise crane handling and close teamwork helped bring the two structures together. Behind every major AIT milestone are countless moments of focus, coordination, and engineering expertise.
With this integration activity complete, the ULTRA Structural Model moves one step closer to its upcoming testing campaign. Stay tuned for the full video on our YouTube channel! 🌕
