DON’T BUY Dangote Refinery shares. 😔
In 2007 — 19 years ago — I bought Dangote Flour Mills shares with ₦150,000. I have the share certificate, and my name is on it; I posted it with this post. 📜
I never received any dividend (the profit shared among shareholders), and to this day I have not even recovered my original capital. I tried to follow up through a stockbroker, but I couldn’t find anyone nearby who could help. I only went to Lagos in 2019. 🚗✈️
I also went to the bank many times to fill e-Dividend forms, but I later noticed that Dangote Flour Mills had been removed from the list of companies on it. 🤦♂️
In 2022, Pension and Stockbroker offices started appearing in Gombe. I went to one office; the staff member told me Dangote Flour Mills had sold the company and that shareholders’ money had been transferred to the government — the NIPF (National Investment and Protection Fund).
From there they told me to go to the SEC, where they said I should fill an e-Mandate form. I filled it, but up till now there has been silence. 😔
Because of this experience, I cannot advise anyone to rush into buying shares without first understanding how the system works. Investigate thoroughly. Know where you will claim your dividend and your original capital if the company changes structure or stops operating. 📊💰
Now I would also like people who understand financial calculations to work out the value for me: ₦150,000 in 2007 — looking at the exchange rate and the value of money at that time — roughly how much is that worth today? 🤔💵
Wassalam. 🙏 From ADAMU YUSUF on Facebook

Ilorin Emirate Begins Selection Process for New Daudu of Bayero Baboko
The selection process for the vacant stool of the Daudu of Bayero Baboko Area in Ilorin has commenced, with the proceedings taking place at the Ancient Palace of the Ilorin Emirate.
The development was contained in a statement issued by Dr. Abdulraheem Muritala, Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin, explaining the traditional system guiding the appointment of royal title holders within the Ilorin Emirate.
According to the statement, the Ilorin Emirate has two ruling houses: the Shehu Abdusalam Alimi Ruling House, headed by Daudu Beere, and the Shehu Shita Alimi Ruling House, headed by Daudu Fagba. The two ruling houses are recognised as the houses eligible to produce an Emir or a Daudu.
It explained that the title of Daudu exists in two broad categories—District Heads and House or Compound Heads.
Historically, every firstborn prince, known in Fulani as Daudu, meaning heir or first child, was allocated a separate compound by the Emir or head of the ruling house. While Daudu is a general title for firstborn princes within the royal houses, the title Ciroma The is specifically reserved for the first child of a reigning Emir.
The statement further identified royal Daudus serving as District Heads, including Daudu Saadu and Daudu Ballah, while others serve as community or compound heads, including **Daudu Beere, Daudu Fagba and Daudu Gbagede**.
It noted that Daudu Beere serves as the overall head of the Daudus in the Ilorin Emirate, including both royal Daudus and other holders of the Daudu title.
The statement also clarified that the hereditary royal titles are exclusively **Emir and Daudu**, while titles such as Balogun, Alangua and Magaji are not designated as hereditary royal titles for princes.
### Two Candidates in Race
The selection process for the vacant **Daudu of Bayero Baboko stool**, which falls under the **Shehu Abdusalam Alimi Ruling House** and the jurisdiction of Daudu Beere, commenced on **August 12, 2026**, at the Ancient Palace of the Ilorin Emirate.
The proceedings are being presided over by the Emir of Ilorin
Two candidates are currently involved in the selection process: Issa Muhammad Nuhu, a 62-year-old retired town planner, and Abdulkadir Olarongbe Bayero, a 72-year-old retired immigration officer.
Following the commencement of the proceedings, the Emir adjourned the matter until September 8, 2026, to allow further dialogue between the two contestants.
The adjournment is aimed at providing an opportunity for the contestants to engage in further consultations and possibly arrive at a consensus candidate.
The process of facilitating the dialogue and consensus-building is expected to be coordinated by Daudu Beere, the head of the Shehu Abdusalam Alimi Ruling House.
I told most of my APC friends in Kwara to be careful.
Hope you listened to what Barr. AbdulKareem said on Sobi FM?
The Saraki family was in power for decades and they never disrespected or went after the family of the AGFs.
But the family of our late father, the AGF, took over and started using all of you to fight their family battles.
Turaki was smart enough not to get involved, despite being punished.
So how do you now use me to fight your family battles, when the Saraki family never fought you? Akara ti tu si epo 😁
