Getachew Reda in his own words during war the in 2020-2022. I guess Shame does not exist in #Ethiopia's/PP's politics. Amongst others he says...
“Abiy already resembles Mengistu Hailemariam — and he will look even more like him when he flees #Ethiopia.”
“If Berhanu Jula calls himself a soldier, then we are soldiers far more worthy of the name.”
“We will liberate every inch of Tigray, including Western Tigray.”
“We have already shattered the bulk of their forces; if any remain, we will finish the job.”
“The #Eritrean military (Shaebia) won’t be able to stand against us — let them come, and we will drive them out by force.” and so on and on....
"There are rumors that I am running away towards Addis Ababa'
Ethiopian soldiers captured by #Fano are receiving comfort and moral support. Let it be peace to the people.
It was in this situation when the Ethiopian former leader Mengistu Hailemariam embarrassingly fled to #Zimbabwe and still hiding there...
The #Ethiopian delegate went to the UN General Assembly carrying Abiy Ahmed’s Red Sea talking points, but the message was overshadowed when #UN Secretary-General António Guterres turned attention to the suffering of Ethiopia’s own people. Instead of successfully selling the government’s Red Sea agenda to the world, the appearance highlighted a far more uncomfortable issue: #Ethiopia’s internal crisis was impossible to ignore.

#Eritrea: Statement by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh at high-level plenary meeting on addressing the existential threats posed by sea level rise
*"...Coastal States like Eritrea must diligently address the impacts of sea-level rise, as it poses a direct threat to our coastal communities, marine ecosystems, and development aspirations. It is, therefore, prudent to strengthen coastal adaptation, disaster risk reduction, resilient infrastructure, ecosystem protection, land-use planning, and early warning systems".
*"...Eritrea has put in place protective and conservatory measures. We are expanding marine and island protected areas, restoring coral reefs, mangroves, and coastal vegetation as natural climate buffers, and advancing a sustainable National Blue Economy strategy that safeguards marine resources while supporting local livelihoods".
*"...Eritrea emphasizes the need for stable maritime zones and guarantees for the sovereign rights of coastal States over their maritime spaces. Parts of Eritrea’s territory consist of low-lying and sandy coastal areas at constant risk from erosion. Eritrea therefore stresses that baselines and maritime boundaries are preserved and that the sovereign and jurisdictional rights of coastal States over their maritime spaces, in accordance with international law, are protected".
*"...Littoral States have a vital and indispensable role in securing and promoting a sustainable and stable maritime ecosystem".

Potemkin Party's signature trademark remains boringly the same: a stale chorus of historic revisionism; and, incessant threats of war and invasion in pursuit of "sovereign sea access and maritime power".
These provocative pronouncements are at times sprinkled with double-speak to hoodwink the international community.
Indeed, the language and tone of aggression seemed to have been toned down at the last BRICS Summit while at home, Potemkin Party's senior Ministers and top Military Generals were simultaneously doubling down on the urgency of "correcting a historical mistake without further delay".
The fact is: for the Potemkin Party, the constant variables in the last three years have been, and remain:
- blatant revision of Eritrea's ancient and contemporary history;
- brazen denial and denigration of Eritrea's Statehood coupled with incessant saber-rattling for acquiring "access to the sea".
The Potemkin Party's aggressive policy intent/mindset is again plainly illustrated in yesterday's X post by its official news agency - Fana Media Corporation, Arabic version.

#Eritrea's delegation, led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, is participating in the 81st UN General Assembly Debate. The delegation will conduct, throughout the Session, a series of crucial bilateral and high-level meetings reflecting Eritrea's steadfast commitment to the principles of the UN Charter & international law, inclusive and equitable multilateralism, and a just world order.
In this vein, FM Osman Saleh met yesterday UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for extensive discussions on vital regional and global matters. The Foreign Minister conveyed Eritrea's appreciation for the SG's services to the Organization and for his constructive engagement with Eritrea.
FM Osman further underlined the enduring importance of the UN Charter and the foundational pillars that it espouses - i.e. sovereign equality, territorial integrity, political independence, non-interference and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
FM Osman elucidated Eritrea's position on the Sudan that is anchored on support to a united, sovereign and stable Sudan; and a Sudanese-owned, inclusive political process supported by regional and international mechanisms.
On the wider region and especially in regard to the security of the Red Sea and Bab-al Mandab, FM Osman stressed Eritrea's support for safe maritime navigation and international cooperation, while respecting the sovereignty and legitimate interests of the littoral States. FM Osman also dwelt on provocative acts of Ethiopia's Prosperity Party towards its neighbours in flagrant breach of the foundational principles of the UN Charter and international law.
As it will be recalled, Eritrea was elected as one of the Vice-Presidents of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly. In this respect, Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam presided over the evening plenary debate, during the opening day of UNGA81, on behalf of Eritrea and in her capacity as VPGA.
Commemorating the #G15 of #Eritrea, whomelted away for the sake of #eritrean#democracy.25 years incommunicado and no medical care orhygiene care. Moreover, no dueprocess whatsoever so ever! On this date, 25 years ago, #Eritrean democracy was totally squashed by #issiasAfwerki.
We are approaching the 1991 situation in Ethiopia. The decorated Eritrean General, Sephat Efrem predicted that scenario two decades ago.
Successive Ethiopian leaders can't help but keep letting Ethiopians down. Shame on them.
BREAKING 🇪🇷 🇺🇸 |• The U.S. has officially lifted its sanctions on the Eritrean Defense Forces, National Security, and the economic institutions of the Front.
In characteristic fashion, Potemkin Party zealots are immersed in another, rather pitiful, round of malicious propaganda against Eritrea. This time round, the wicked plot revolves around the specter of "new and brewing hostilities" in the Group of Hanish Islands.
As it will be recalled:
- The Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in the Hague rendered its sovereignty Award on the islands in 1998.
- Eritrea accepted the Award in accordance with the Agreement it had signed, and President Isaias Afwerki promptly sent a letter of reconciliation to his Yemeni counterpart (Ali Abdella Saleh). (It took Ethiopia 18 years to accept the PCA Arbitral Award on the Badme and environs dispute).
- Eritrea dismantled its military installations and withdrew its army units from the Hanish Islands three weeks after the Award although the provision stipulated for a latitude of three months .
- The dispute was thus settled with full restoration of warm bilateral ties thereafter.
Furthermore, what is odd in the PP's new line of propaganda, and that cannot be glossed over, is their clamoring few months ago when the UAE established an air strip in those islands (obviously with the acquiescence of the Yemeni Government). At the time, they saw this as "an asset and strategic depth" for the war that they have been contemplating against Eritrea.
The US has finally removed the unilateral sanctions on Eritrea today.
Congratulations to the people and Government of #Eritrea for their steadfastness, resilience, and principled approach that made this development a reality.
The unilateral sanctions imposed on Eritrea by the Biden Administration in 2021 were unwarranted and caused undue damage on Eritrea. Now that they have been removed, we welcome this positive gesture and corrective measures taken by the Trump Administration.
Today’s move by the US should mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Eritrea-US relations, that we envision to be grounded in #sovereign respect, mutual interests, and the pursuit of a mutually beneficial #partnership. 🇪🇷🇺🇸

Geologically speaking, around 60 per cent of Eritrea’s territory belongs to the Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS). The term ‘shield’ is used in geology to describe large areas of exposed crystalline magmatic and highly metamorphic rocks from the Precambrian era that form tectonically stable areas. These rocks are more than 570 million years old, some even 2 to 3.5 billion years old. The ANS is one of the largest Precambrian rock formations in the world, rich in easily mineable raw material deposits".
