After scoring his century, KL Rahul forgot the whistle celebration he had dedicated to his daughter Ivra. Then Shubman Gill reminded him, โHey bro, do that one!โ and then KL Rahul finally did it ๐
There is a Manish Pandey story Iโve shared with almost nobody.
In 2018, during Indiaโs T20I series against West Indies, the team had a short mid-series break for Diwali. I happened to be on the same flight back - Lucknow to Bangalore - as Manish Pandey.
He was seated one row ahead of me, alone, headphones on, quiet through the journey. He hadnโt featured in the series at all till then. Beside him sat an elderly lady.
When the flight landed, we all got off and headed towards the baggage carousel. I walked past Manish at one point, wished him luck for the games ahead, and carried on.
A little later, I noticed the elderly lady looking worried. Her phone had switched off and she was trying to contact her daughter, who was waiting outside the airport to pick her up. She tapped Manish on the shoulder, unaware who he was. He immediately took off his headphones, listened carefully, and without a second thought handed over his own phone so she could make the call.
Once the call was done, Manish ensured she had collected her luggage and he walked out of the airport with her, parting ways only after seeing the lady spot her daughter.
I still remember standing there watching it unfold quietly from behind. Itโs not some grand story. But this one always stayed with me.
Today feels like a good day to share it.
Wish he decided to hang his boots right after this night. Would've been the most perfect ending to his career. There will never be another moment even remotely close to the high this one gave even if you script it. Missed opportunity.

Some moments are bigger than the game.
Walking out to play, carrying a loss no words can hold, you show what heart truly means. Not just a cricketer today, but a son playing for his mother.
Every step, every ball, we stand with you.
The team, the fans, all of us, right beside you.
Strength, prayers, and yellove always, Mukesh. ๐

The first ball always makes your heart raceโฆ and that night, it never stopped.
15 years later, it still stays with us. We all grew up as a bunch of young cricketers, united by one dream. To win the World Cup for India.
To everyone who was a part of the journey, and to all the fansโฆthank you for sharing it with us and making it so special. Jai Hind! ๐ฎ๐ณ
This Sunday in January 1999. Harsha Bhogle simply owned these "100 seconds" while honoring the Chennai crowd. Thank you @bhogleharsha, a spontaneous passage of play that deserved the best and got the best.
Happy Birthday to Dravid, whose pulsating tango with Laxman produced that cricketing Naatu Naatu, replete with exquisite and thrilling footwork, and help upstage a bunch of white men in the most improbable fashion.
