openai built a model that HIDES personal data in text so nothing leaks
i flipped it INSIDE OUT
same 1.5B weights, same label taxonomy, but instead of masks you get structured spans, name, email, phone, bank account, address, secrets, char offsets and all
point it at logs, dumps, stolen inboxes and it just... returns every private thing in the pile
I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and thank you for believing in me to lead the company that has always put you at the center of our work. This is not goodbye. It’s a hello to John and I can’t wait for you to get to know him like I do! 🙏
There has to be some word for this concept
It's why designers from tech who design touchscreens like Jony Ive won't put a touch screen in a car but use real knobs
Or why programmers don't actually like smart homes and smart appliances at all but want things analog
Or why tech people raise their kids without mobile devices
Like knowing things so well from inside of it (tech) that you choose to NOT use it because you know the negatives that come with it in specific contexts
iPhone 17e, iPad Air, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro...
And now, say hello to the all-new MacBook Neo!
We’re so excited to bring the magic of Mac to even more people around the world.
A paradox I can’t get over in light of this stuff: you need junior employees to do repetitive tasks for you, the more senior expert. If you totally automate it, your need for the juniors vanishes
However, you were once a junior doing those tasks, and you were trained through them to get to where you are. If that path is cut out entirely, where will the senior technical experts come from?
John Wall: "Everybody back at home is like 'you can't f*ck with Kyrie, you can't f*ck with Dame' I'm like YES I CAN. I can do the same thing they do... for my team I had to make everyone else better, for their team they had to be scorers"
