The difference it makes to get $500 a month [in basic income] is freedom, to avoid eviction, getting your electricity cut off. It's given us a chance to take our lives back."

That is how Porchia Willis described her lived experience as a welfare recipient and then a basic income pilot participant in the documentary film @ItsBasicDoc.
