Our Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting graduation list dropped today. 🎓

Next week, we officially earn our B.S. degrees in Sportscasting from Full Sail University. While I’ll walk in September due to my move to South Dakota, I’m proud of how far our class has come.

It’s kind of surreal to say this, but I’m down to my final TWO assignments as an undergraduate student. 📚🎓

For years, earning this degree felt so far away. Now the finish line is right in front of me.

Next stop: graduation and then graduate school in August.

As I prepare to earn my degree next week and begin my journalism career, I can’t help but miss coaching.

The workouts. The camps. The film sessions. The relationships.

I’m excited for what’s ahead in South Dakota, but I’m not convinced I’ve coached my last game. 🏈🏀🎙️

My final week as an undergraduate student. Next week I’ll officially hold a bachelor’s degree, and on August 3rd I’ll begin my journey as a graduate student. Through every setback, every sacrifice, every late night, and every moment I wanted to quit, God carried me.

Today I learned that Black journalists make up only a small percentage of the broadcast journalism industry. As a first-generation college graduate preparing to begin my full-time career in news, that statistic hit differently.

Representation matters, but so does perseverance.
