Going to be starting an engineering blog for all things @PixelStixApp related and thought it was worth writing up a nice introduction

So... Hello, World!

@tinyxtina_ Been remote since ~2016 and I don't think any reasonable amt of money would be worth going back to full time in-office

If there was an office nearby I'd pop in once or twice a month. But for social interaction I'll just go work at a Kava bar or coffee shop or something

[Kevin Lacker @lacker]

impressed with GPT-4 today, told me "that code should work, maybe there's a bug in the compiler" and it actually was a bug in the compiler

The amount of effort it's going to take to switch banks...

But the man has spoken. The deed is done. 😭

Whoever decided to put Knocked Loose on the Coachella lineup needs to spend some time thinking about what they did..

Because it is the highest quality and most chaotic decision they could have possibly made 😂

[シラナミンチ ♡ 𓅓 @breakyoselfff]

People at Coachella when knocked loose plays 😈

@ leadership who allowed / pushed those engineering / security practices

Not @ the engineers

[Avid Halaby @AvidHalaby]

The stuff uncovered in the Twitter whistleblower report is much crazier than anything in the "Twitter files" but it's much less politically/tribally salient so it got no attention. Going to do a thread on some of the craziest things, in no particular order.

@TitterTakeover This can already be done with @NanoTipBot

@GergelyOrosz @PixelStixApp @objectvoice Bootstrapped* typing that with a sleeping baby in hand wasn't ideal lol

[[email protected] @ItsJamesTice]

@GergelyOrosz On a 6 month hiatus while preparing for and adjusting to a 2nd child, but I'll be getting detailed on our engineering blog for the @PixelStixApp
/ @objectvoice rearchitecture

We've been boostrapped for 5 years and are focused on security / scale now

There it is 😂

[Rafael Shimunov @rafaelshimunov]

Did Twitter Blue tweet just cost Eli Lilly $LLY billions?

Yes.

[[email protected] @ItsJamesTice]

@parker_gibbons @wongmjane Alas, this is what happens when you take over, and then lay off a bunch of people, and then tell a team of engineers "do this dumb thing by this ridiculous deadline or you're fired", and then expedite red team review, and then threaten remote work with firing, and then

@xtinacomputes A lot of the higher quality people I follow moved to Mastodon,

It's actually been pretty nice having my feed showing only posts from the people I follow, rather than some algo deciding based on most profitable way to display ads. Quality has gone way up. 😁

[[email protected] @ItsJamesTice]

How tf is this any different than what we had before?

It's exactly the same, but more noise 😂
