I love Ronaldo, but I genuinely believe he should consider retiring from international football. He’s 41 years old now and has absolutely nothing left to prove. 🐐🇵🇹

Honestly, sometimes I feel like Portugal are keeping him around because of his name, legacy and the relevance that comes with having Cristiano Ronaldo on the team. And I understand why he’s Cristiano Ronaldo. But at some point, you have to let the next generation take over.

The sad part is that Portugal have the talent to be an elite national team. Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, João Neves and plenty of other quality players are there, yet they still haven't managed to fully click as a team. We saw that at the World Cup.

Compare that with Argentina and the way their players have rallied around Messi. That unity and togetherness is something Portugal seem to be missing.

Ronaldo has given Portugal everything. I just feel like the time has come for him to walk away from international football on his own terms and allow the next generation to take over. Portugal will definitely feel his absence when he’s gone, but his legacy is already untouchable. ❤️🐐🇵🇹
