Don't burn bridges... BAN TROLLS!!! There’s a difference, and grown people should know it.
Let’s get uncomfortable for a minute... It’s December anyway.
So my last week was jam-packed, and capped off by a masterclass at Uganda Registration Services Bureau @URSBHQ on “Leveraging Social Media to Build Your Brand.” - thank you for the opportunity @WIPO
Standing there, speaking about longevity and influence, I realized something: I’ve been online for 9 years. I’ve been the most controversial person in the room. I’ve been loved. I’ve been dragged. And somehow… I’ve transitioned into “the billboard guy”.
Was that transition intentional? Yes, because I chose growth over noise. No, because growth often forces you to shed skins you didn’t know you’d outgrow.
During the Masterclass, I gave a simple piece of advice: “Don’t burn bridges.” Later, I saw comments calling this hypocritical & nonsense.
Let’s clear up this confusion, definitively.
Protecting your peace is NOT burning bridges. You cannot burn a bridge that was never built.
There is a difference between Critique and Disrespect. There is a difference between a "Difference of Opinion" and "Trolling." When someone attacks me personally or ridicules my partner, that is not “engagement.” That is A BLOCK.
And just like any social media platform has Community Guidelines, my personal brand has boundaries. If you cross them, you lose access. The older I get, the clearer it becomes:
📌 You don’t owe everyone access.
📌 You don’t need every opinion.
📌 You don’t grow by staying in fights you’ve already outgrown.
Social media rewards attention, but I reward who respects me. Choose wisely
