@PrismalMelonMan@Sirowinds , that's just sad... Some are also being against are view as if it's not a big deal. The same people who would judge why Natlan characs are not linked to their native reference(dark-black skin), but would see ballet here as if it's not a serious case๐๐
@PrismalMelonMan@Sirowinds company. The stage where a dancer is consistently casted in lead roles. The point where they have achieved the perfect execution of ballet techniques, and regarded as the best dancer(s) in a ballet company. Seeing how 'Odette' here is performing what a toddler in ballet can do+
@Jupiilol@Sirowinds Don't worry, I get your point. But the feet in heels is not really the problem. The heels aren't high enough than the level of court heels, which dancers back then used before flats were introduced. Plus she has no turnout(check the 5 basic positions in ballet)
@Jupiilol@Sirowinds Their knees to hyperextension(instead of bending forward, the knees slightly bends backward when straightening their knees). You can check some ballet tiktoks, a lot of dancers also do tiktoks in heels and occassionally shows ballet in it.
@Jupiilol@Sirowinds I don't think that's the case... When she did fouettes, her feet are flexible, which allows to bend the frontal ankle more. It's just not utilized more in her whole body animations. It is common for dancers to stretch their feet, so when they're in heels, they can still bend
@Jupiilol@Sirowinds That really depends, since today, there are still ballet shows where dancers are still wearing court heels(depending on a company's version).
@Jupiilol@Sirowinds Plus, ballet is first being performed in court heels. 'Odette's' heels aren't that high of a stilettos. Both male and female performers, including kings themselves in the early days of Louis XIV, danced the Menuet and Sarabande in court heels. This was before Marie Camargo
@PrismalMelonMan@Sirowinds This exists, btw:
Early forms of classical ballet evolved as court dances. Both male and female performers, including kings themselves in the early days of Louis XIV, danced the Menuet and Sarabande in heeled court shoes. When Marie Camargo removed the heels, it allows her to
@drawninthestars@Sirowinds If giving opinion on the character then yes, you don't have to be. But if it's defining how 'ballet' is, using her as the basis, dictating the opposite view of actual dancers, then yes, you have to be a ballet dancer to understand. There are comments going around like this here๐ฉ
@drawninthestars@Sirowinds No one told you that you judged it back already, I'm merely implying should you ever. Ever heard of prolepsis? Another thing, you can't tell me not to confirm my position on the case. I'm speaking based on my experience and knowledge, an emphasis to fact-check the so called prima
@drawninthestars@Sirowinds It sure will, because us ballet dancers know what "ballet" is. Shall it hurt your ego to learn, you're in no place to judge it back if you're not a dancer yourself.
@drawninthestars@Sirowinds Better watch some Swan Lake and you'll know the difference between the two, before taking it less serious. I'm not telling hoyo to cancel her, ballet is just being misrepresented here...
@drawninthestars@Sirowinds - Hips not squared
- Back too arched
And to top it all off, referenced from Odette of Swan Lake, which if you haven't watch any shows of Swan Lake yet, is performed in dramatic grace, as representing as a swan queen that is cursed by Rothbart to suffer
