Just wanna give a shoutout to all the Black illustrators and animators out there…y’all are doing truly incredible work. ✊🏾🎨
To know that we exist in these creative spaces, and are continuing to tell our stories through art, imagination, and animation, is honestly profound. 🙌🏾
Random thoughts at the gym…
Whatever happened to Issa Rae turning Jazmine Sullivan’s album #HeauxTales into a scripted series? I can definitely see it working as a vertical drama…🔥🎬👀
#Memphis family, make sure you’re registered to vote. Don’t let the noise and distractions blur your focus, it’s obvious who’s putting in the work, speaking on real policy, and being backed by respected voices vs. those just riding trends.
Let’s go! Make us proud. 💯
Y’all gotta stop abusing ChatGPT!
It’s here to help structure your thoughts, not replace your voice.
You don’t need AI for every caption or reply. Even if your grammar “ain’t” perfect…that’s YOU. That’s your voice. Use it. 💯
Side note: I tell my students this all the time.
Man…these fast food spots really be putting a medium amount of fries in a large box 🤦🏾♂️
If I order a large, I need fries overflowing out the top. I’m just saying.
Crazy how the media’s depiction of #TeyanaTaylor went from being celebrated to villain (or attempted villain) in less than 24 hours.
It’s wild how quickly narratives shift, especially when it comes to Black women. One moment you’re celebrated, the next you’re scrutinized. 🤦🏾♂️
Making some branding updates and had to pause and give myself credit. This industry isn’t easy… but the growth is real.
Grateful for every step. Whew. 🙏🏾
This week past week, #NinaParker said something that stuck with me…when you become grounded in who you are, you no longer settle for spaces, friendships, or relationships that don’t reflect that growth.
Knowing yourself changes everything. 💯
Man…I love writing…even in my spare time, I always find innovative ways to strengthen my technique, creatively.
Forever grateful to have THE best literature teachers in school.
The more I learn about the world of illustration and animation, the more I’m amazed by the Black creatives who are thriving in it.
An industry many of us were never exposed to, yet here we are, present, seen, and shaping culture. That’s groundbreaking! 🔥
Clearly I need to wake back up.
Standing in line at #Starbucks watching church on my phone and I accidentally ordered a Lemon Drop instead of a Medicine Ball. We laughed WAY too hard at that one!😂😂😂🙌🏾
The pastor said some of us are living way below our God-given potential because of the names someone spoke over us. Those words became labels, and those labels became limits.
It’s time to stop answering to names we were never meant to carry. 💯
“Trust God.” That’s it. When you do, He’ll rearrange rooms, move CEOs out of the way, and place you in environments where you’re not just surviving, but thriving in the field He’s called you to.
Pastor was on POINT today!
