The first Floating Solar Power Plant in Zanzibar ready for take-off.

I had an opportunity to meet Hon. Shaib Hassan Kaduara, Minister of Water, Energy and Minerals - Zanzibar along with investors and technology experts who visited his office to discuss progress and development of the 16 MW floating solar project in Zanzibar. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Joseph Kilangi, Principal Secretary and Eng. Said Mdungi Director of Enegy Ministry of Water, Energy and Minerals.

The initial technical feasibility stage of the project has been completed to enable the EPC developer to construct the plant. When the project is completed it will be the first country in East Africa to have such advanced modern technology plant to enable Zanzibar to utilize its vast areas of water for increased solar capacity.
