Ive just woken up to the news that Jason Arday has taken his own life. And firstly I want to send condolences to his family. This is terribly sad news.

I ain’t saying what Jason done was right.

But does someone deserve to be hounded and publicly destroyed until they feel there’s no way back? Absolutely not!!

I know a little bit about media and social-media pile-ons myself. I had it last year. It was terrible. I had Thousands of people who had never met me suddenly think they knew everything about me just from a headline. It was horrible. Luckily I’m a tough old bastard and I’ve got an amazing family and good people around me. We carried on.

But not everybody can cope with all that pressure. And it is proper pressure.

We’ve seen over sad tragedies with Caroline Flack, Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon. They was all different people and had different circumstances, but how many times are we gonna say “BE KIND” after somebody dies, then forget about it a week later?

The press should investigate wrongdoing and hold people accountable. That’s their jobs. But report the facts, give people a chance to answer and remember there is a REAL HUMAN BEING behind that headline. All I had was half truths & exaggerations put in the press about me last year. So I know how it works.

BTW I ain’t no saint. I’ve made loads of mistakes. We all have. That is called being a human.

Accountability matters. But so does humanity.

So listen you lovely lot. Check in on ya mates. Look after each other. And before you join the next pile-on, remember there’s a real person on the other side of that screen.

There is ALWAYS another day. There is ALWAYS a way back.

So rest in peace Jason.
