Fort Myers, Fla. — Lee County Sheriff's Office released bodycam footage of a traffic stop involving a foreign national that occurred on Aug. 19.

Jorge Valle Armijo, 41, who is in the country illegally, was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. Armijo attempted to flee and an officer deployed a Taser. The suspect fell to the ground and cried. He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail on an ICE detainer.

The impetus was the Times declining to run a column I wrote from the perspective of two female student athletes who were opposed to competing against biological males. Jason Kaplan was video chatting at a bar when Mantezz Granger allegedly saw his ex-girlfriend with him and became enraged. According to prosecutors, Granger and several associates later confronted Kaplan and others, forcing them to a nearby residence.

Charging documents allege that Demetrius Cooper knocked Kaplan to the ground and sh*t him in the back.

Tyshawn Howe is accused of standing over the ex-girlfriend’s father and sh*oting him in the chest. A woman was also sh*t in the thigh, and another person was struck in the face with a firearm. Kaplan d*ed at the scene.

Five men face charges including first-degree intentional h*micide and attempted first-degree intentional h*micide.

They are being held on high bonds.
