@ukhomeoffice Here's an idea:
Instead of uploading passports and biometric data to random companies, how about government backed cryptographic age tokens?
"Over 18 = True"
That's all the website needs to know.
@ukhomeoffice Maybe I'm cynical, but every solution these days seems to involve handing over more personal data. How long before one of these age verification providers suffers a major breach?
The less time I spend on social media, the more I realise how much of the internet is just people outsourcing their opinions.
I don't need the internet telling me who to love or hate. I'm perfectly capable of hating every fucker equally.
As a music producer, if there was ever an argument for pirating plugins, it's that every time I open my DAW I'm asked to verify something, sign back into a plugin, or re-authorise one that randomly logged me out. Half my time is spent proving I own the stuff I already paid for.
