Canada should be the easiest place on earth to build something big. Killing the Digital Services Tax gets us closer. That tax didn’t just hit foreign companies, it placed a ceiling on the success of our own entrepreneurs.
Thanks, @FP_Champagne and @MarkJCarney, for backing builders. Let’s make 🇨🇦the launchpad for every entrepreneur on the planet. That’s how we lead. That’s how we win.
This is wild.
Japan's Kawasaki just built a 4 legged robot, CORLEO, that runs, climbs, and jumps like a horse.
Runs on hydrogen.
Feels like riding a sci-fi beast🤯
6 insane features:
"Every former Nvidia employee that goes to a large tech company like Google and MSFT says it's extremely difficult to adjust to the culture, Nvidia is faster but the work ethic is on a different level"
3dfx was the No 1 graphics company in the mid-to-late 90s, their main competitor Nvidia beat them and essentially destroyed them - acquired their assets and hired 100 of their engineers.
The 3dfx engineers kept looking for Nvidia's secret or magic trick, but it turned out the only secret was relentless execution & working crazy hard.
This culture obviously stems from the CEO, Jensen - who loves to work on Sunday nights & finds it relaxing.
Jensen is constantly focused on cultivating talent - he rewards highly performing engineers by doubling or tripling their stock compensation.
To avoid the internal politics that plague large organizations (where projects get stuck in quicksand needing multiple approvals), Jensen made the organization flat.
Every time they need to make decisions, he brings together top 10-15 people, including lower-level employees, to hash out the main problems in an intellectually honest way and execute quickly - what they call "speed of light" at Nvidia.
The real currency isn't attention. It's emotional connection.
When you tell authentic stories that mirror people's lives...
You don't need gimmicks or shock value.
And this reveals something crucial for founders today:
This demo is insane.
A student shares their iPad screen with the new ChatGPT + GPT-4o, and the AI speaks with them and helps them learn in *realtime*.
Imagine giving this to every student in the world.
The future is so, so bright.
*BREAKING NEWS*
Sources tell me Larry Tanenbaum's Kilmer Group has a proposed bid to bring the 14th WNBA team to Toronto. Former Raptors VP Teresa Resch is pegged to lead the new franchise.

Here’s my take on the Raptors moves…
I think the DeMar DeRozan deal weighed so heavily on Masai Ujiri that he hedged on moving Pascal and Fred and O.G. – it cost him - and I don’t mind it.
When you build a culture based on hard work, dedication and sacrifice…you need to be careful with how you treat it.
Fred and Pascal and Nick Nurse…thought they could make something of last season…and Masai bought in and went and got them Poeltl. It didn’t work.
Fred moves on, gets his bag.
Nick moves on to a pretty good landing spot. OG too.
And now Pascal moves on…and will get his bag.
Masai did as right by these guys as you can do in pro sports and he paid for it in the picks for Poeltl, Jakob’s deal and whatever more you could have got for Fred, Pascal and OG had you traded them earlier.
I’m ok with it…because those guys helped win you a championship and set the tone for a franchise that exceeded expectations year after year.
Many things can be true. It cost them. The respect paid cost them…and sometimes that stuff can pay dividends down the road when guys in the league talk about their experiences. Sometimes it doesn’t mean a thing.
I’m good with the attempt. I wonder how many other Raptors fans are too?

Considering how their season has gone to this point, the shrieking daughter of a franchise icon and a 19-point collapse seems like a fitting way for it to end. The 2022-23 Toronto Raptors, ladies and gentlemen.
Michelle Yeoh has just become the first Asian actor and the second POC to win Best Actress for her performance as Evelyn Wang in #EverythingEverywhere All at Once.
We are so happy for her. 👏💙 #Oscars95
