Susan Sarandon, Everly Carganilla and Aubrey Plaza take a leap of faith in THE ACCOMPANIST #Tribeca review from @ItsTheRealDel - https://t.co/U4AOuQRpgo
Enjoyed the globe-trotting wild ride that is STEALING MAGIC 🪄 at #Tribeca. When the FBI fails you, turn to an ‘ethical hacker’. Piracy affects movies and magic and Matthew Testa’s doc proves that it can be worthwhile to fight back, but most don’t have the doggedness required.
Zach Woods debut feature THE ACCOMPANIST pulls all the right strings. Incredibly emotional performances from Susan Sarandon and Aubrey Plaza, not to mention a star-in-the-making 9 year old Everly Carganilla. Had some laughs but mostly feels. Loved it! #Tribeca
Watch the official trailer for WILD INSIDE, the remarkable true story of Flaco the Eurasian Eagle-Owl, world premiering in Central Park on July 29. Coming to select theaters July 31, starting with the @IFCCenter in NYC.
TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA is one of the sharpest and best deconstructions of the slasher genre I’ve ever seen. Campy, sexy, bloody, and deeply attuned to why these films have long served as a sexual awakening for generations of viewers, Jane Schoenbrun masterfully crafts something that is personal, gorgeous, hypnotic, wholly unique, and not easily identifiable. With reverence for the genre’s past while carving out their own singular voice in conversation with their previous two films, Schoenbrun defiantly pushes against what Hollywood typically demands from the horror genre, even as it embraces the pleasure that audiences seek from it. Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson are absolute perfection together, and soundtrack is filled with nothing but bangers! This feels destined to become a defining favorite for an entirely new generation of horror fans.
A millionaire responds to the charge that @NYCMayor's Tax the Rich agenda would make the wealthy leave New York City:
"No, the whole point of being rich is you can live wherever you want."
"I wanna make sure [teachers] can afford to live in the city!"
STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE!--the documentary about pioneering journalist Amy Goodman--reported with an impressive $33k this weekend in 1 NY theater (IFC Center).
Italian plumbers rule, tourists drool.
Universal's YOU, ME, & TUSCANY couldn't compete with the Brothers Mario, as the romantic drama earned just $8M in its debut.
So far, Vance’s foreign policy record is yelling at Zelensky for not thanking Trump enough, campaigning for AfD in Germany and Orban in Hungary, getting rejected by the Pope on his invite to the US, and failing in the Iran negotiations.
Gianfranco Rosi’s POMPEI BELOW THE CLOUDS is streaming on @mubi starting today. It’s an incredible portrait of the people who choose to live in Vesuvius’ shadow. perhaps his best yet!
